  • Patent number: 9201947
Abstract: Methods and systems for media file management are provided. When a plurality of media files in the electronic device are viewed, media data is real-time generated for the media files. In the generation of the media data, the media files are analyzed to obtain a theme for the media files. Then, a script file is identified according to the theme, and media data is produced for the media files according to the script file. In some embodiments, a frame buffer used for storing the media data is refreshed after each frame of the media data is rendered.

  • Publication number: 20150117217
Abstract: A network entity comprising a processing unit that is configured: to receive a policy token from user equipment (S10) to determine network equipment handling a packet flow to the equipment (S30); to generate an instruction to apply a specific policy for the packet flow to the user equipment based on received policy token (S40); and to send the instruction to the network equipment (S50).

  • Patent number: 8997162
Abstract: A video on demand system has a video server (200) for outputting video streams requested by users, via a core network (620) and access networks (630, 640, 650). A resource manager (600) determines occupation information concerning how much of the previously allocated capacity is occupied by previously authorized video streams is determined before authorizing transmitting a new requested video stream. By checking there is sufficient core network capacity, a risk of disrupting existing video streams or causing other problems by overloading the allocated capacity, is reduced or avoided. Thus less capacity in the core network is needed, and so costs of such capacity can be reduced and there is increased confidence that demand peaks will be handled more gracefully. By checking without obtaining occupation information from the core network, the system can be more independent of the core network, to reduce costs of a real time interface to the core network.

  • Publication number: 20120096486
Abstract: There is provided a method of removing or replacing advert slots in linear broadcast television programming when replayed as a time-shifted television asset, comprising capturing an input linear broadcast video stream to form a time-shifted television asset, detecting advert cue signals indicative of advert slot timings within the time-shifted television asset, generating metadata indicative of the advert slot timings from the detected advert cue signals, and packaging the time-shifted television asset together with the metadata, for use by a downstream system to replace or remove adverts from the time-shifted television asset.

  • Patent number: 6701019
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for determining visually noticeable differences between two input images. A first contrast image is generated from the first input image and a second contrast image is generated from the second input image. A contrast difference image is then formed from the two contrast images. A mean absolute difference is calculated between blocks of pixels of the first and second input image. Pixels in the contrast difference image which exceed a first threshold produce a first threshold signal and if the mean absolute difference exceeds a second threshold so a second threshold signal is produced. A detection signal is produced from the threshold signals.

  • Patent number: 4498495
Abstract: A magnetic differential pressure valve is provided, having an indicator showing when the valve has moved into one of the open and closed positions, comprising a housing including a valve seat; valve means reciprocably mounted in the housing for movement towards and away from the valve seat between open and closed positions; first magnetic means movable with the valve means toward and away from the valve seat; first bias means urging the valve means and first magnetic means in one direction and normally retaining the valve means and first magnetic means in one of the closed and open positions; second magnetic means movable toward and away from the first magnetic means and normally retained in a first nonindicating position, reacting with the first magnetic means whenever the two means are within their mutually reactive magnetic fields of force, and the valve means is in one of the closed and open positions; and second bias means urging the second magnetic means into one of the nonindicating and indicating posi
