  • Patent number: 11992312
Abstract: Sensor systems can be used to measure an analyte concentration. Sensor systems can include a base having a distal side configured to face towards a person's skin. An adhesive can couple the base to the skin. A transcutaneous analyte measurement sensor can be coupled to the base and can be located at least partially in the host. A transmitter can be coupled to the base and can transmit analyte measurement data to a remote device.

  • Patent number: 6046255
Abstract: A foam of very small, microscopic bubbles of surfactant, each bubble containing a small quantity of water, is mixed with a water/cement mixture having a water to cement ratio of less than 0.33. The small bubbles have a ball bearing effect on the smaller cement and sand particles, increasing plasticity or flowability and thus reducing the water requirements of the mixture. The foamed cement mixture is laid to form a desired concrete structure, and the bubbles disintegrate or transform to leave voids of similar size uniformly dispersed throughout the concrete structure.

  • Patent number: 5900191
Abstract: A foam producing apparatus has a first mixing chamber with an inner subchamber connected to a supply of gas at a first pressure and an outer subchamber connected to a supply of a foamable liquid at a second pressure higher than the first pressure. A plurality of orifices connect the outer subchamber to the inner subchamber. The foamable liquid is forced from the outer subchamber into the inner subchamber through the orifices and is atomized to form droplets carried by the gas to an outlet. A second mixing chamber is connected to the outlet of the first mixing chamber and is filled with an agitating medium so that droplets propelled through the second mixing chamber are violently agitated to produce the desired foam.

  • Patent number: 5427654
Abstract: A multi-ply web forming apparatus is disclosed for forming a top ply on a base ply. The former includes a looped lower forming wire for receiving the base ply thereon and a top looped forming wire cooperating with and disposed above the lower wire for defining therebetween a generally horizontally disposed forming section having a first and a second end. A turning bar defines a curved surface for guiding the lower wire. A secondary headbox ejects stock towards and onto the base ply. A curved dewatering shoe is disposed beneath the lower wire such that a portion of water from the top ply is ejected through the top wire. A vacuum slot collects a portion of water upwardly away from the top wire. An inverted vacuum box is disposed downstream relative to the vacuum slot and a plurality of dewatering blades disposed between a curved face of the vacuum box and the top wire guide the top wire therepast.

  • Patent number: 5001650
Abstract: A method and apparatus for search and tracking multiple targets in an object space. The apparatus (10) includes a targeting FLIR unit (12) operating in imaging mode. The targeting FLIR unit (12) is operable to generate an output in response to the observations of the multiple targets. The apparatus (10) also includes an infrared search and tracking electronics unit (48) for allowing the apparatus (10) to detect and track the multiple targets in response to the output of the targeting FLIR unit (12).

  • Patent number: 4830709
Abstract: A multi-ply paper web forming apparatus utilizes first and second forming wires which travel in a co-running path for a portion of their length and which form a throat into which an aqueous slurry of paper pulp fibers is introduced. The slurry is dewatered between the co-running first and second forming wires upwardly and downwardly to quickly produce a substantially formed, but still moist, top ply web which is carried on the second forming wire onto a base ply web which has previously been formed on the wire of a single wire former. The first surface of the top ply web is brought into ply bonding engagement with the surface of the base ply web to produce a composite multi-ply web which has superior overall ply bond, retention and dryness before leaving the web forming section of a papermaking machine.
