    Abstract: A fluid catalytic cracking unit is controlled by sensing the reactor bed temperature and the riser temperature and by manipulating the flow of regenerated cracking catalyst into the riser responsive to these two temperature measurements. A gain function generator is utilized to compensate for the non-linear relationship between the change in valve position and change in riser temperature caused thereby.
