Abstract: Vitamin E compositions, methods of making such compositions and therapeutic uses of vitamin E compositions are disclosed. Compositions of matter comprising a tocotrienol making up at least 15 dry basis weight percent of the composition of matter and a constituent selected from a triglyceride and a triglyceride ester, wherein upon mixing of the composition of matter with water the tocotrienol based composition is substantially emulsified; and wherein upon mixing of the composition of matter with water a resulting emulsion has an intensity-weighed mean droplet size of less than 700 nm are also disclosed.

Abstract: Compositions containing tocotrienol, non-tocotrienol lipids and surface active agents; compositions containing particles having a statin and a tocotrienol wherein the particle size is less than 1000 nm; and microemulsions containing a statin and a tocotrienol are disclosed. Methods relating to the creation of such compositions and the use of such compositions are further disclosed.

Abstract: Esters of tocotrienols having pharmacological activities pertinent to the treatment of breast cancer and other forms of cancer are disclosed herein. Among those compounds is (Z)-4-oxo-4-((R)-2,5,7,8-tetramethyl-2-((3E,7E)-4,8,12-trimethyltrideca-3,7,11-trienyl)chroman-6-yloxy)but-2-enoic acid. Tocotrienol esters were used to inhibit the growth and migration of +SA mammary epithelial cells and highly metastatic human breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells respectively.

A variety of Met kinase inhibitors may be used in conjunction with tocotrienols in the treatment or prevention of cancer.
