  • Patent number: 11083845
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to devices and methods for neutralizing an acidic anesthesia solution. An anesthesia neutralization device includes an outer housing and an inner housing. The inner housing holds a buffer carpule and an anesthetic carpule in a side by side arrangement, with the buffer solution maintained under pressure prior to deployment. A curved transfer needle is coupled to the outer housing and includes ends that both point respectively toward the buffer carpule and anesthetic carpule. The device is actuated by moving the inner housing relative to the outer housing to bring the anesthesia carpule and buffer carpule into contact with the transfer needle and to force buffer solution through the transfer needle and into the anesthesia carpule.

  • Publication number: 20210125517
Abstract: A multi-page illustrated and written book printed on synthetic paper with an electronics module that can record sounds through one or more microphones to solid-state, digital memory and playback pre-recorded or user recorded audio data from the digital memory device through one or more speakers is disclosed. The book may include one or more of the following either on the front or back cover or on any of the plurality of pages inside the book: mirror, signature page, pocket page, or high-contract geometric patterns.

  • Patent number: 10987188
Abstract: An infection mitigation device providing a temporary, disposable sterile barrier between a sterile field and the non-sterile, light-emitting region of surgical lightheads. A surgical team member can easily apply and remove the protective barrier when needed. The device minimizes the opportunity for biohazardous materials from being transmitted between patients, thereby reducing the chance of infection, and ultimately providing patients with improved clinical outcomes. The center region of the barrier can be adapted to receive and/or cover (partially or completely) one or more types of centrally located surgical lighthead adjustment handles. The device can be manufactured with a unitary or composite construction. Depending on the specific composition of the barrier and application, a supportive carrier device may provide additional geometric stability for the barrier while it is maneuvered into its operational location on the lighthead.
