  • Patent number: 10733996
Abstract: A device includes a processor configured to extract parameters from an audio signal. The processor is configured to perform liveness verification by determining, based on first parameters and a liveness data model, whether the audio signal corresponds to a first audio type indicating spoken speech, to perform user verification by determining, based on second parameters and a user speech model, whether the audio signal corresponds to speech of a particular user, and to perform keyword verification by determining, based on third parameters and a keyword data model, whether the audio signal corresponds to a particular keyword. The processor is configured to generate an output indicating that user authentication is successful in response to determining that the audio signal corresponds to speech of the particular user, to the particular keyword, and to the first audio type.

  • Publication number: 20180032585
Abstract: A method for context-based contact suggestion performed by an electronic device is described. The method includes generating one or more suggested contacts based on current operating context information, historical operating context information, and contact information by determining at least one contextual similarity between the current operating context information and historical operating context information corresponding to at least one contact. The method also includes associating the current operating context information with the contact information. The method further includes updating the historical operating context information based on the current operating context information associated with the contact information.

  • Patent number: 9313630
Abstract: Real-time Short Message Service (SMS) messaging between an originating device such as a mobile device or Short Message Entity (SME) and a destination device such as a mobile device or SME. The real-time SMS messaging may be provided by initiating a call session between the originating device and the destination device, sending the SMS message within the call session, and terminating the call session prior to establishment of dedicated call traffic resources. In some embodiments, existing mobile protocol stacks may be employed by using existing voice call setup procedures to initiate the call session before sending the SMS message. In some embodiments, call session protocol stacks are extended to provide for an indication of a real-time SMS session type in the call session setup signaling. Real-time SMS messaging may be offered as a value added service, according to various embodiments. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

  • Publication number: 20160014578
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems of various embodiments enable the handling of simultaneous calls on a MSMA device having at least a first subscriber identification module (SIM) associated with a first transceiver and a second SIM associated with a second transceiver. A processor may establish a first SIM call using the first transceiver. The processor may also establish a second SIM call using the second transceiver while maintaining the first SIM call active. The first SIM call may be maintained active by the processor connecting the first transceiver to a first input/output device and the second SIM call may be maintained active by the processor connecting the second transceiver to a second input/output device.

  • Publication number: 20150230070
Abstract: Methods and devices are disclosed for increasing capacity for handling simultaneous calls to a particular SIM of a wireless communication device having at least a first and second SIM and corresponding first and second radio resources. If a preset maximum number of calls has been reached for a first of the modem stacks, and a radio resource of another other modem stack is handling less than its preset maximum number of calls, the wireless device may send a signal to the network serving the first SIM to activate the call forwarding function. While activated, calls addressed to the first SIM may be received by the wireless device on radio resource associated with the other SIM.
