  • Patent number: 11488298
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for improving image quality of ultrasound images by automatically determining one or more image quality parameters via a plurality of separate image quality models. In one example, a method for an ultrasound system includes determining a plurality of image quality parameters of an ultrasound image acquired with the ultrasound system, each image quality parameter determined based on output from a separate image quality model, and outputting feedback to a user of the ultrasound system based on the plurality of image quality parameters.

Date of Patent: November 1, 2022
    Assignee: GE Precision Healthcare LLC

  • Publication number: 20210169455
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for improving image quality of ultrasound images by jointly selecting optimal scan parameter values. In one example, a method includes acquiring a plurality of ultrasound images of an anatomical region, each ultrasound image acquired at a different combination of parameter values for a first scan parameter and a second scan parameter, selecting a first parameter value for the first scan parameter and a second parameter value for the second scan parameter based on an image quality of each image, and acquiring one or more additional ultrasound images at the first parameter value and the second parameter value.

  • Patent number: 10806391
Abstract: In an embodiment of the subject matter described herein a system is provided. The system includes a portable host system having one or more processors and a memory for storing a plurality of applications. The one or more processors configured to execute programmed instructions of a select application by performing one or more operations, which include obtain a set of frames of 2D ultrasound images, develop a prospect model indicating a likelihood that frames within the set include an organ of interest (OOI), identify primary and secondary reference frames from the set of the frames based on the prospect model, determine a characteristic of interest in the primary reference frame, select a candidate shape for the OOI based on the character of interest in the primary reference frame, and adjust the candidate shape based on the secondary reference frames to form a resultant shape for the OOI.

  • Publication number: 20170124700
Abstract: Methods and systems for measuring a volume of an organ of interest (OOI) from an ultrasound image are provided. The methods and systems acquire a first ultrasound image of an OOI at a first plane and a second ultrasound image of the OOI at a second plane, and identify the OOI within the first ultrasound image and the second ultrasound image by executing a classification model stored on a memory. The methods and systems further determine a first boundary of the OOI within the first ultrasound image and a second boundary of the OOI within the second ultrasound image by executing a contour model stored in the memory, determine a first second dimensional length of the OOI from the first boundary and a third dimensional length of the OOI from the second boundary, and calculate a volume of the OOI derived from the first, second, and third dimensional links.
