Patent number: 9315224Abstract: Unit for picking up a spare wheel of a vehicle. According to one implementation the unit includes a gear assembly configure to apply a torque on a drum supporting a cable, the gear assembly having a cam that wobbles as the gear assembly transmits the torque. A rotatable stop is situated adjacent a side edge of the cam and is configured to act on the edge of the cam to limit the travel of the cam during the wobbling movement. The stop has a first contact surface and a second contact surface with the edge of the cam configured to slide along the first contact surface as the drum is rotated in at least one direction by operation of the cam. A guide surface is provided to interact with the second contact surface to limit the rotation of the stop when the edge of the cam acts on the stop.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2014Date of Patent: April 19, 2016Assignee: Batz, S. Coop.Inventors: Pedro Corral Rodriguez, Ekaitz Urzelai Usaola

Patent number: 8956101Abstract: Unit for picking up spare wheels in vehicles that includes a winding assembly with a rotating shaft, the rotating shaft having a gear with a plurality of spaced-apart teeth circumferentially disposed about the rotating shaft. The unit further includes a safety device that includes a spring loaded cam that is pivotable between first and second angular positions. The cam includes an engaging portion that is configured to engage with the spaced-apart teeth on the rotating shaft. In the first angular position the engaging portion of the cam is urged towards the gear of the rotating shaft by action of a spring element so that the engaging portion resides in a space between the spaced-apart teeth to prevent rotation of the rotating shaft. In the second angular position the engaging portion of the cam is positioned away from the gear of the rotating shaft against the action of the spring element so that the engaging portion does not engage with the spaced-apart teeth to permit rotation of the rotation shaft.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2012Date of Patent: February 17, 2015Assignee: Batz, S.CoopInventors: Ander Gonzalez Sagarzazu, Pedro Corral Rodriguez

Patent number: 8936311Abstract: Headrests for motor vehicle seats. The headrests may include a fixed part, a moving part movable with respect to the fixed part from a rest position to an active position, with connection means connecting the fixed part and the moving part to determine the path and the position of the moving part. A drive device drives and moves the moving part with respect to the fixed part in the event of a crash. Movement of at least one portion of the moving part to a forward position with respect to the active position may be provided by a damping assembly. The damping assembly may also allow the backward movement to the active position after an impact of the user's head on the moving part, absorbing energy in the backward movement.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: January 20, 2015Assignee: Batz S.CoopInventors: Pedro Corral Rodriguez, Joseba Palacio Argüelles

Patent number: 8839995Abstract: Safety devices for vehicle tire carriers including safety features that protect against the tire being dropped upon a failure in a cable system that supports the tire in a stowed condition. In one implementation the tire carrier has a support shaft at least partially housed within a longitudinal sleeve having a window. A pivotable arm has a first feature that engages with a portion of the support shaft to limit downward movement of the support shaft within the longitudinal sleeve when the pivotable arm is in a first rotational position and upon a failure in the cable system to properly support the tire in the stowed condition. The pivotable arm may also have a second feature that engages with the longitudinal sleeve to inhibit the arm from pivoting away from the first rotational position upon a failure in the cable system to properly support the tire in the stowed condition.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2011Date of Patent: September 23, 2014Assignee: Batz, S.Coop.Inventors: Pedro Corral Rodríguez, Jose María Puente del Monte, José Ignacio Garrido Ramos

Patent number: 8833851Abstract: A headrest. In one implementation the headrest includes a moving part that is rotationally coupled to a fixed part between a rest position and an active position. A connection assembly connects the moving part to the fixed part. An articulation assembly is operably coupled to and between the fixed part and the moving and has a first configuration when the moving part is in the rest position and a second configuration when the moving part is in the active position. The headrest includes a drive device that is moveable between first and second positions. In the first position the drive device is decoupled from the articulation assembly so that the articulation assembly assumes the first configuration, when in the second position the drive device acts upon articulation assembly to cause the articulation assembly to assume the second configuration.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2012Date of Patent: September 16, 2014Inventors: Pedro Corral Rodriguez, Joseba Palacio Argüelles

Patent number: 8777071Abstract: A unit for picking up and lowering a spare wheel on a vehicle. In one implementation the unit comprises a main shaft, a mechanism with a shaft of rotation for winding or releasing the cable, which is connected at one end to the main shaft, and at the other to the mechanism, a safety actuator that acts on the main shaft and is connected to the mechanism by a connection means. A drive means connects the mechanism and the connection means, and cooperates with the safety actuator, releasing it, in a combined rotation and displacement movement.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2012Date of Patent: July 15, 2014Inventors: Pedro Corral Rodriguez, Ander Gonzalez Sagarzazu
