Abstract: An apparatus for leading a web threading tail over an empty space formed between two surfaces, between which the apparatus (10) is arranged. The apparatus (10) includes a belt loop (28) permeable by air, which is supported by turnover rolls (29, 30). Within the belt loop (28) at least one foil strip (31) is arranged for creating a vacuum effect in the part of the belt loop (28) that transports the web threading tail (16) from the surface preceding the empty space, and to lead it to the following surface, a vacuum effect is arranged in connection with the first turnover roll (29) of the turnover rolls (29, 30).

Abstract: A method and system for maintaining runnability in a paper or board machine, which machine for making paper or board includes two or more successive section complexes, such as a web formation section, a press section, a drying section and a finishing device, and wherein at the section complex (i) cleaning measures are carried out, (ii) the cleanness level is checked, (iii) if the cleanness level does not meet the criteria established for it, the procedure continues from step (i), otherwise, (iv) the cleanness level is accepted. Checking of the cleanness level is performed by using computer vision and the observations obtained by computer vision are compared with a criterion value established to correspond with the required cleanness level, and based on this value the procedure either continues with cleaning measures (i) or the cleanness level is accepted (iv).

Abstract: In the drying section of a paper machine having a first cylinder, a second cylinder and a support fabric supporting a web to be dried, the fabric along with the web being passed from the first cylinder to the second cylinder, a device is provided at the height of the free run portion of the web and the support fabric between the cylinders on the side of the support fabric and comprises a chamber connected to a source of pressurized medium and a nozzle slot provided in the wall of the chamber for effecting a flow having an influence on positive and negative pressures induced in wedge-like spaces formed between the cylinders and the web with the support fabric for stabilizing the run of the web. The nozzle slot is directed at an angle with respect to the free run of the web and away from the web and the support fabric towards an area, which is outside the wedge-like space defined by the circumferential surface of the cylinder and the free run.
