  • Patent number: 6363243
Abstract: It is shown a locking arrangement at a portable device such as a telephone terminal. The device comprises a main body and a movable protruding member such as a flip-lid. The protruding member is switchable between at least a first position and a second position with respect to the main body. The locking arrangement comprises a plunger unit and a lock and release unit with a fixed part and a resilient part. The resilient part is resilient along at least one direction of resilience (X) away from the fixed part. The plunger unit is switchable, along a direction of insertion and retraction, between a disengaged position and an engaged position between the fixed part and the resilient part.

  • Patent number: 6138347
Abstract: A conductive strap configured to attach to a circuit board containing a component sensitive to electronmagnetic interference (EMI) and to slidably contact an enclosure having a conductive internal surface can reduce or eliminate EMI in an electronic device. The strap is positioned on the circuit board to shield the sensitive component from EMI. Slidable contact between the shielding strap and the enclosure internal surface renders the strap suitable for almost any enclosure configuration without any design modification.

  • Patent number: 5274882
Abstract: In a hinge mechanism, a first hinge portion and a second hinge portion are urged toward predetermined angular relationships relative to one another. A force, directed outwardly from the first hinge portion, is applied by an axle pivotally connecting the first and second hinge portions and having a V-shaped tip against a V-shaped groove in the second hinge portion, urging the V-shaped tip and groove to engage. In addition to being urged toward predetermined angular relationships, the first and second hinge portions are kept in predetermined angular relationships until a torsional force is applied to one of the hinge portions to overcome forces keeping the V-shaped tip and groove in engagement.
