Patent number: 9252959Abstract: The invention relates to a method, party challenging device (18) and computer program products for providing a challenge to a first terminal (10) intending to communicate with a second terminal (24) via two networks (N1, N2). The party challenging device receives a first electronic message (1M) concerning a transfer of media from the first terminal to the second terminal sent from the first terminal (10) and addressed to the second terminal (24), obtains communication contextual data associated with the first party or the first terminal, provides an electronic challenge message (CHM) including a challenge (CHl1) based on the obtained data and sends the challenge message to the first terminal in order to enable a decision to be made how to process the invitation message for the second terminal based on the correctness of a response (RM) including a response to the challenge.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2009Date of Patent: February 2, 2016Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Luis Barriga, Michael Liljenstam, Mats Naslund, Per-Olof Nerbrant

Patent number: 8555337Abstract: The present invention relates to fraud prevention and authentication of a device to a user. The method of authenticating a personal device according to the invention comprises a set up sequence, wherein at least a first preferred output format is selected by the user, and a device configuration verification sequence. In the device configuration verification sequence a checksum is calculated and converted to a user friendly output format based on the user selected preferred output format. In addition the checksum may be calculated based on variable, and user selectable, keying material. The personal device, after being authenticated according to the above, may be used to authenticate a second device.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2005Date of Patent: October 8, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Rolf Blom, Per-Olof Nerbrant, Mats Näslund

Publication number: 20130104241Abstract: Devices for providing flexible control of rendering of protected media comprising first and second content objects are provided. An instruction database combines with traditional use of digital rights objects for determining, at rights parsing and instruction handler, conditions for rendering of first content object. Conditions may force the user to render second content objects or to input requested data and may adapt to environmental conditions exemplary relating to user profile, location, or time of day. A set of second content objects may be pre-determined and specified in provided instructions. User selection, from a list of second content objects, of a specified number of second content objects, provides for generation of a key enabling successful rendering of first content object.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2009Publication date: April 25, 2013Inventors: Rolf Blom, Per-Olof Nerbrant, Goran Selander, Clary Hallberg Dahlin

Publication number: 20130046751Abstract: A method and arrangement in a server (300) for providing information about statements of a web resource (A) published on the internet by a first internet host and a second internet host. The server may be associated with an owner of the web resource. A registering module (300a) registers said statements and corresponding identifications of the first and second internet hosts. A storing module (300b) then stores registered statements and host identifications in a web resource usage record (R). When a receiving module (300c) receives a request (Rec) for information on the web resource, a delivery module (300d) delivers a response (Res) based on the stored statements and host identifications. The response indicates that the registered first and second internet hosts are logically linked by referring to the same web resource (A).Type: ApplicationFiled: May 7, 2010Publication date: February 21, 2013Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Vlasios Tsiatsis, Vincent Huang, Per-Olof Nerbrant

Patent number: 7861097Abstract: A tamper-resistant electronic circuit is configured for implementation in a device. The electronic circuit securely implements and utilizes device-specific security data during operation in the device, and is basically provided with a tamper-resistantly stored secret not accessible over an external circuit interface. The electronic circuit is also provided with functionality for performing cryptographic processing at least partly in response to the stored secret to generate an instance of device-specific security data that is internally confined within said electronic circuit during usage of the device. The electronic circuit is further configured for performing one or more security-related operations or algorithms in response to the internally confined device-specific security data. In this way, secure implementation and utilization device-specific security data for security purposes can be effectively accomplished.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2003Date of Patent: December 28, 2010Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Bernard Smeets, Goran Selander, Per-Olof Nerbrant

Patent number: 7365741Abstract: A system and method for navigation and selection in an information space at least partly displayed on a display screen at a mobile terminal device. The information space contains selectable information objects properties. The terminal device has motion-sensing means for control of the displayed information and of object selection. An information object may represent an information space whereby object properties determine display, navigation, and selection characteristics. In particular, a terminal device motion along a predefined axis affects a type of projection for mapping the information onto a display screen and, simultaneously, a scale factor.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2002Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Didier Chincholle, Björn Jonsson, Per-Olof Nerbrant

Publication number: 20040019801Abstract: Method and system for securely sharing content in real-time systems over heterogeneous networks. Cryptographic mechanisms of the content are used to protect the confidentiality and the integrity of the content. The confidentiality/integrity protection may be performed either before storing the content on the content server (i.e., pre-encryption), or by the content server while the content is being sent (i.e., real-time encryption).Type: ApplicationFiled: May 14, 2003Publication date: January 29, 2004Inventors: Fredrik Lindholm, Elisabetta Carrara, Bjorn Jonsson, Per-Olof Nerbrant

Publication number: 20030038754Abstract: Method and apparatus is provided for use with a rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP) display window in a mobile communication device to selectively adjust the presentation of text. Eye tracking sensors are used to detect when a reader's focus shifts outside the text window, indicating that the reader has become inattentive to displayed text. Thereupon, presentation of text is halted. When the eye tracking sensors detect that the focus of the reader's eyes has shifted back into the text window, text presentation is resumed. Usefully, the rate of text presentation is slowed down or speeded up, when the eye tracking sensors detect the reader's eyes to be focused on the left edge or on the right edge, respectively, of the text display window.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2001Publication date: February 27, 2003Inventors: Mikael Goldstein, Bj?ouml;rn Jonsson, Per-Olof Nerbrant

Patent number: 6385585Abstract: A digital input symbol is transmitted to a receiver by determining one or more formant frequencies that correspond to the digital input symbol. In one embodiment, a pre-programmed addressable memory is used to map the set of possible digital input symbols onto a set of corresponding speech units, each comprising a superposition of one or more formant frequencies. A signal is then generated having the speech units. The signal is supplied for transmission over a voice channel. This may include supplying the signal to a voice coder prior to transmission. In another aspect of the invention, a forward error correction code (FEC) is determined for the digital input symbol, and the one or more speech units are modified as a function of the forward error correction code. In this way, the FEC may also be transmitted with the encoded input symbol. The modification may affect any of a number of attributes of the speech units, including a volume attribute and a pitch attribute.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2000Date of Patent: May 7, 2002Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Björn Jonsson, Jan Swerup, Krister Törnqvist, Per-Olof Nerbrant
