  • Publication number: 20180259197
Abstract: The present invention relates to a local thermal energy consumer assembly and a local thermal energy generator assembly to be connected to a thermal energy circuit comprising a hot and a cold conduit. The local thermal energy consumer assembly is selectively connected, via a pump or a valve to the hot conduit. The local thermal energy generator assembly is selectively connected, via a pump or a valve to the cold conduit. The use of either the valve or the pump is controlled by determining a local pressure difference between heat transfer liquid of the hot and the cold conduits.

  • Publication number: 20040035117
Abstract: In a method which, owing to improved environmental properties, allows production of power, power and thermal energy, power and cold, or power, thermal energy and cold, a system includes a compression unit is used for pressurizing a working fluid containing oxygen, preferably air. The system further comprises a combustion unit which downstream of the compressing unit, as seen in the direction of flow of the working fluid, is arranged to supply a first amount of heat to the working fluid by substantially complete combustion of a fuel in the working fluid. An expansion unit is arranged to produce mechanical work during expansion of the working fluid. A heat recovery unit is arranged downstream of the expansion unit to divert a second amount of heat from the working fluid at a pressure above atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 6210150
Abstract: A method and an apparatus of operating a boiler fired with liquid or gaseous hydrocarbons are described. Fuel and atomizing air are supplied to the burner of the boiler wherein the atomizing air is subjected to a moistening process prior to mixing with the fuel. Heated water is vaporized and is contacted with the atomizing air. The generated water vapor together with the atomizing air is supplied to the burner. In this manner, the portion of the NOx emissions in the flue gas of the boiler can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6196165
Abstract: A device for supplying vapor to the intake air which is supplied to an internal combustion engine is described. The device has a moistening means which is formed as horizontal container which is flown through by the intake air and by a liquid to be evaporated in cross flow and/or parallel flow. The device has an especially flat construction due to the design of the moistening means as horizontal container. The cross flow and/or parallel flow principle in the moistening means assures a good efficiency with respect to the generation of vapor.

  • Patent number: 5758606
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for supplying vapor to intake air that is supplied to an internal combustion engine. The method comprises the steps of compressing the intake air before supplying the vapor and contacting, in a moistening means, the intake air with liquid, by simultaneously feeding the compressed intake air and the liquid into the moistening means and causing the intake air and the liquid to flow in opposite directions through the moistening means. The invention also relates to a device for supplying vapor to the intake air of an internal combustion engine, to which a compressor for compressing the intake air is connected.
