  • Publication number: 20030084608
Abstract: A floral display includes small pieces of colored foam positioned within a vase, enabling the vase to hold more water than prior displays and allows easier insertion of weak flower stems. In addition, the floral display enhances the decorative nature of the floral display by facilitating easy use of color foam pieces that coordinates with the flower colors used in the display. The foam elements are small in comparison to the size of the vase.

  • Publication number: 20030061762
Abstract: A floral display device includes a tapered foam body and a ballast embedded within the foam body. The ballast is positioned near a lower portion of the foam body and has a density which is substantially greater than that of the foam body. In this way, the center of gravity of the device is lower than without the ballast and the total mass is greater, rendering the device less likely to tip over. In one embodiment, the ballast is molded within a closed interior chamber of the foam body. In another embodiment, the ballast is provided in a recess in the underside of the foam body. In one form, the invention comprises a foam flowerpot which is hollow and defines an open interior region for receiving dirt, plants, etc. In another form, the invention comprises a solid floral arrangement base for receiving plant stems and flower stems to be inserted therein and has an external shape similar to that of a flowerpot, but is solid, not hollow.

  • Patent number: 6270341
Abstract: A decorative candle holder for supporting a spring-loaded candle sleeve in an upright position. The holder comprises a shell forming a cavity therethrough, a base, an upper aperture, a lower aperture and feet. The lower aperture and the cavity are dimensioned for receiving the candle sleeve. In the preferred form, the upper aperture has a diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the sleeve such that the tip of the sleeve rest within the upper aperture but does not extend therethrough. The bottom of the sleeve is frictionally secured within the lower aperture by preferably a flexible ring that is slidably engaged with the sleeve and is of sufficient thickness to snugly fit radially between the bottom of the sleeve and the walls of the lower aperture. Preferably, feet are attached to the bottom of the holder to further assist in supporting the holder in an upright position.
