  • Patent number: 10119451
Abstract: An internal combustion engine for a motor vehicle drive includes a housing having a cylinder head water jacket, an exhaust water jacket and a combustion chamber water jacket. A valve is operable for adjusting a flow through a multi-channel coolant inlet. In particular, the valve provides continuous adjustment of a cross section, through which a fluid can flow of a multi-channel exhaust coolant outlet for admitting a flow to the exhaust water jacket and cross-section, through which a fluid can flow of a multi-channel combustion chamber coolant outlet for admitting a flow to the combustion chamber water jacket.

  • Patent number: 8857387
Abstract: A cylinder head is provided with liquid cooling system and a method for cooling the cylinder head. The cylinder head includes, but is not limited to a liquid jacket in which a coolant flows along a main flow pathway from a coolant inlet to a coolant outlet. The liquid jacket is interrupted between the coolant inlet and coolant outlet by portals to cylinders of an internal combustion engine. A second portal is arranged in a flow shadow of a first portal. The cylinder head in the liquid jacket exhibits a flow guide wall with a constriction of the flow cross section, and a baffle plate, which is arranged in the direction of the main flow pathway, downstream from the flow guide wall. The baffle plate is designed to divert a coolant flow branch in a direction of flow transverse to the main flow pathway, toward the second portal.

  • Patent number: 8396257
Abstract: Systems, devices, applications, and methods for generating an open area map are disclosed. For example, a software application is configured to run on a computing platform of an end user. The end user generates an image of a layout of a walkable area. The software application performs a method of generating an open area map based on the image. The method includes applying an array of uniformly spaced objects on the image. • Patent number: 8374780
Abstract: Open area maps and related systems and methods are disclosed. For example, one method includes receiving an image of a layout corresponding to a real-world area in which a person walks about. A restriction associated to a passageway within the image is generated. The image is used to generate a routable map for point-to-point routing. Routing through or around the restriction is based on whether or not criteria for passing the restriction is met.

  • Patent number: 7688229
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for displaying video on a computing device for navigation and other purposes. A map database developer collects video data. The video data is collected by traveling along roads in a geographic area and storing the video data along with data indicating the positions at which the video data had been captured. This captured video data is then used in navigation systems and other devices that provide navigation, routing, video games, or other features. An application forms a video that shows a turn at an intersection from a first road onto a second road. The application adds video that depicts travel away from the intersection along the second road to video that depicts travel into the intersection along the first road to form a composite video that shows a turn at the intersection from the first road onto the second road. The composite video is then presented to a user on a display.
