  • Publication number: 20060145885
Abstract: A multi-function meter system for measuring multiple environmental parameters includes a hand-held meter and an environmental probe for sensing a selected environmental parameter. The meter includes a housing, an electronic assembly mounted within the housing, a display screen, an operator pad, and multiple data ports. The electronic assembly includes a microprocessor and a memory device having an operating system stored therein. The operating system either identifies the environmental parameter sensed by the environmental probe or transmits a query to the display screen requesting that the environmental parameter be identified to the operating system through the operator pad. The operating system then provides at least one measured value of the identified environmental parameter on the display screen.

  • Patent number: 6834993
Abstract: A probe for measuring the surface temperature of a pipe includes a detector assembly and a rectangular strap. The detector assembly includes a rigid, unitary clamp member having a bottom, pipe engagement surface, an oppositely disposed upper surface, and first and second locking dogs extending upwardly from the upper surface. The locking dogs define a gap having a width WG. A temperature sensor assembly is carried on the pipe engagement surface. The proximal end portion of the strap is mounted to the clamp member. The strap is flexible, longitudinally resilient and has a thickness TU in an unstretched condition and a thickness TS in a stretched condition, where TU>TS, TU>WG, and WG>TS. The probe is mounted to the pipe by positioning the pipe engagement surface of the clamp member against the pipe, wrapping the strap around the pipe, and applying a tensile force to the distal end portion of the strap such that the thickness of the strap decreases from TU to TS.

  • Patent number: 6779919
Abstract: A probe for measuring the surface temperature of a pipe includes an active clamp assembly and a passive clamp assembly, with the first end of the passive clamp assembly pivotally mounted to the first end of the active clamp assembly. The active clamp assembly has a first end portion forming a lower handle and a second end portion forming an upper jaw. A clamp temperature sensor assembly is carried in the upper jaw and an electronics module having a display panel is carried in the lower handle. The passive clamp assembly has a first end portion forming an upper handle and a second end portion forming a lower jaw. A spring biases the upper handle away from lower handle.

  • Patent number: 4962388
Abstract: A feed mechanism and method for feeding zigzag paper from either side of a zigzag paper pack. Zigzag paper is inserted into a paper retention pocket in a door pivoted to a housing. The door is then closed, causing the paper pack to stand upright vertically and an end of the paper to become positioned between a drive roller and a print head and between a drag spring and guide element. The drag spring biases against the guide element and is arranged above a base of the paper retention pocket over the zigzag paper pack. The drive roller pulls the paper between the drag spring and guide element and out of the pocket.
