  • Patent number: 6105376
Abstract: A mechanical control apparatus is provided for controlling the spray or misting of water into the immediate vicinity of the condenser coils in the compressor unit of an air conditioner, and comprises a hinged, vaned paddle member; and a water valve mechanically connected to and operable by the paddle member. The paddle member is mounted so that blown air flow from an air fan in the compressor unit will impinge on the paddle member, will and cause it to pivot upwardly about a hinge. The paddle member has a mechanical valve operating member, and is connected to a source of pressurized water, so that when the valve is open, water will pass through it to at least one nozzle mounted on the compressor unit to be sprayed or misted into the immediate vicinity of the condenser coils. The mechanical linkage between the paddle member and the valve is such that when the paddle member is pivoted upwardly, the valve will be opened; and when the paddle member is in its horizontal orientation, the valve will be closed.

  • Patent number: 5799427
Abstract: The invention relates to improvements to a merchandise information system having a plurality of overlapping display items each having on opposite sides thereof information concerning available merchandise at a remote location. The system includes a support having a rigid base, and a plurality of spaced flexible webs formed integral with the lower edge of the base and depending therefrom. The display items are attached to the lower ends of the webs to display one side of the item. The lower end of each web includes a "claw" structure to prevent theft of the display item through downward extraction of the item from the web. The rigid base connects to a hanger support ledge on a plurality of steps on a display base. Mounting of a number of supports on the steps causes the display items to be arranged in an overlapping manner.

  • Patent number: 5633472
Abstract: A method and system for dynamically converting audio data into a standard format. The method and system also provides for using a directory hierarchy to specify a fidelity level and dynamically generating the audio data at the specified fidelity level. When a drive is loaded with, for example, a CD ROM containing raw audio data, the system generates a directory hierarchy for the drive. The directory hierarchy contains sub-directories corresponding to various fidelity characteristics. For example, the system may generate a sub-directory corresponding to audio data stored in stereo format and another sub-directory corresponding to audio data stored in mono format. The system also generates a file entry in sub-directories for each track of the CD ROM. For example, the stereo sub-directory may contain a file entry for track 1 of the CD ROM and the mono sub-directory also may contain a file entry for track 1.

  • Patent number: 5280843
Abstract: A game ball assembly for use with a game ball is described comprising a net for receiving and holding the game ball, a handle adapted to be retained within a user's hand, a length adjuster having a body part and a relatively movable locking slide part defining with said body part two paths at opposite sides of the slide part, and an elongated substantially inelastic tether cord or rope secured between the handle and the net. The tether extends through one of the paths of the length adjuster, through the net and then through the other path of the length adjuster such that a free end of the tether is supported between the slide part and the body part of the length adjuster. This arrangement facilitates simple adjustment of the length of the tether.
