  • Publication number: 20150217852
Abstract: The present invention provides an aircraft structure comprising a first sub-structure, having a first box cross-section, a second sub-structure, having a second box cross-section, and a joint joining a first end region of the first sub-structure to second end region of the second sub-structure, wherein the joint comprises an overlap region where the end regions of the first and the second sub-structures overlap such that the first sub-structure is inside the second sub-structure. The present invention also provides an aircraft comprising such an aircraft structure and a method of manufacturing an aircraft structure.

  • Publication number: 20070110276
Abstract: Systems and methods for sorting, scanning and routing imaged documents are described. In one configuration, incoming mixed white mail is sorted and coded, then extracted and scanned using the code to separate items. The separate imaged documents are then routed using the code. In another configuration, the documents are automatically extracted from the envelopes. In yet another configuration, the intended recipient is sent an identifier used to reference the code and retrieve the imaged document.

  • Publication number: 20060261158
Abstract: An authentication method includes reading a covert identifier associated with a product, reading an overt identifier associated with the product, and matching a covert identifier with an overt identifier to authenticate the product.

  • Publication number: 20060162846
Abstract: One embodiment of the invention includes a method for imparting a unique identifier to a molded polymeric article. The method includes providing a label comprising indicia having a thickness effective for embossing the polymeric article during molding and a melting point greater than the melting point of the molded polymeric article. The method also includes attaching the label to the article prior to vulcanization. The method further includes vulcanizing the article so that indicia emboss the molded polymeric article by forming indentations in the molded polymeric article.

  • Publication number: 20020193041
Abstract: Method of manufacturing a dispenser cathode for a cathode ray tube comprising a cathode carrier with a cathode base of a cathode metal and a metal matrix body of a matrix of metal particles of a metal selected from the group of refractory metals and, infiltrated into the matrix, oxide particles of an alkaline earth oxide selected from the group of oxides of calcium, strontium and barium, where the matrix of metal particles of a metal selected from the group of refractory metals is produced by reduction of a porous stabilized oxide gel of the metal selected from the group of refractory metals.

  • Patent number: 5461904
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a leak detection means that directs any leaked fluid to a single preselected radial point where it contacts and activates an indicating means. The means for defining the leakage flow path to the indicating means also acts as a barrier preventing contamination of the flange bolts by any leaking fluid.

  • Patent number: 5182684
Abstract: A system and method for controlling the movement of a member, particularly the heads of a disk file, to a specified position in a predetermined path, makes use of an electromagnetic responsive to control signals and to position reference information and a transducing means for reading such information to produce a position signal. The position signal is sampled regularly and, together with the actuator control signal, used to update a velocity estimator. During the deceleration phase of the movement, a new actuator control signal is generated at each sample time from the square of the estimated velocity divided by the computed distance-to-go to the specified position.
