  • Patent number: 11992312
Abstract: Sensor systems can be used to measure an analyte concentration. Sensor systems can include a base having a distal side configured to face towards a person's skin. An adhesive can couple the base to the skin. A transcutaneous analyte measurement sensor can be coupled to the base and can be located at least partially in the host. A transmitter can be coupled to the base and can transmit analyte measurement data to a remote device.

  • Patent number: 5786215
Abstract: An apparatus and method for the in vitro culturing of animal cells, e.g., mammalian cells, to attain mass growth of the cells per se and/or to recover cell-secreted products of interest therefrom, in which an integral culture and gassing element is formed from spirally-wound or concentricallywrapped lengths of a liquid-impermeable, oxygen-permeable membrane envelope such that narrow cell culture spaces are formed between adjacent windings or wrapping of the envelope. Cells in the culture spaces, which spaces may optionally contain cell substrate material, are cultured in contact with a culture medium introduced into the spaces from an end of the element, and in contact with oxygen-containing gas supplied to the membrane envelope for diffusion across its oxygen-permeable walls into the culture spaces.

  • Patent number: 5599139
Abstract: A method of constructing a liner system for a waste containment facility having substantially vertical sidewalls utilizing a plurality of vertical expansion boxes for holding a flexible membrane liner against a rock face or any other approximately vertical face without penetration of liner, liner "creep", slippage or impairment of the integrity of the liner A vertical expansion box provides lateral and vertical pressure onto portions of the flexible membrane liner to hold it firmly in place. The vertical expansion box is constructed such that when, filled with soil or other aggregate material, lateral pressure of the fill will flex the sidewalls of the box, which in turn applies pressure against the liner.
