Patent number: 11952803Abstract: An anti-theft device for securing an article of merchandise against unauthorized removal from a display counter. The anti-theft device includes a plurality of arms slidingly disposed within the housing. Grips are disposed on proximal ends of the arms and are configured to receive and secure edges of an article of merchandise. A locking mechanism is disposed within the housing of the anti-theft device. The locking mechanism involves an actuator that presses a locking component to engage at least one of the arms. The arms have a first set of teeth disposed thereon, such that, when the locking component engages at least one of the arms, the first set of teeth interlocks with a second set of teeth. The arms cannot slide relative to the housing while the first set of teeth and the second set of teeth remain interlocked.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2021Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Vanguard Products Group, Inc.Inventors: Christopher A. Kelsch, John N. Figh, Jr., Matthew Kuntz, Lucas P. Swartwood, Wade Zhu, Volodymyr Andreev, Peter D. Iezzi, Andriy Los, Jasen Paul Biggins

Patent number: 11035151Abstract: An anti-theft device for securing an article of merchandise against unauthorized removal from a display counter. The anti-theft device includes a plurality of arms slidingly disposed within the housing. Grips are disposed on proximal ends of the arms and are configured to receive and secure edges of an article of merchandise. A locking mechanism is disposed within the housing of the anti-theft device. Complimentary teeth are disposed on the locking component and the arms. An actuator transitions the locking components between a first unlocked configuration in which the teeth of the locking components are retracted away from the teeth of the arms, and a second locked configuration in which the teeth of the locking components engage the teeth of the arms.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2020Date of Patent: June 15, 2021Assignee: Vanguard Products Group, Inc.Inventors: Christopher A. Patent number: 10858865Abstract: An anti-theft device for securing an article of merchandise against unauthorized removal from a display counter. The anti-theft device includes two pairs of arms slidingly disposed within the housing. Grips are disposed on distal ends of the arms and are configured to receive and secure edges of an article of merchandise. A locking mechanism is disposed within the housing of the anti-theft device. Complimentary gear teeth are disposed on the outer surface of the locking component and the inner edges of the arms. An actuator transitions the locking components between a first unlocked configuration in which the gear teeth of the locking components are retracted away from the gear teeth of the arms, and a second locked configuration in which the gear teeth of the locking components engage the gear teeth of the arms.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2019Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Assignee: Vanguard Products Group, Inc.Inventors: Christopher A. Patent number: 10323440Abstract: An anti-theft device for securing an article of merchandise against unauthorized removal from a display counter. A clip securely holds the article of merchandise. The clip has a hook on a bottom surface thereof. A base has an aperture configured to receive the hook. When the hook is inserted into the base through the opening, the clip is shifted relative to the base such that the point of the hook resides underneath a top plate of the base. A locking member immobilizes the clip within the base preventing the hook from becoming realigned with the base. A key is used to retract the locking member to release the clip from the base.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2018Date of Patent: June 18, 2019Assignee: Vanguard Products Group, Inc.Inventors: Christopher A. Patent number: 7048556Abstract: An apparatus for protecting an accessory connector (12) on a communication device (10). The communication device can include an opening (14) for providing access to the connector. The apparatus can be a cover (16) attached in a tethered relation to the communication device. A portion of the cover can be flexible so as to allow a user to selectively move the cover between a first position and a second position. In the first position, at the cover can substantially close the opening such that the connector is substantially protected from the infiltration of solid particles and the gross intrusion of liquids. In the second position, the cover can be held away from the connector such that substantially unimpeded access to the connector is permitted. The cover and communication device can have various associated features to ensure that the cover is retained in the first and second positions.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2003Date of Patent: May 23, 2006Assignee: Motorola, Inc.Inventors: Stephen M.
