  • Patent number: 11122729
Abstract: A seeding implement has an implement frame with a lateral frame member. Spoked wheels rotate about a wheel axis that is fixed with respect to the implement frame. Shanks are mounted to the lateral frame member such that each shank is movable with respect to the frame. Each spoked wheel rotates about the wheel axis in a plane that is vertical, aligned with, and forward of, a front face of a corresponding shank, and ends of spokes pass adjacent to a front face of the shank. A spoke clearance distance between the ends of the spokes and the front face of the corresponding shank remains within a trash clearing range as the shank moves with respect to the implement frame from a first operating position to a second operating position that is below the first operating position.

  • Patent number: 10653405
Abstract: The device can include a first member connected to a second member via junctions. The members can be statically or pivotally connected at the junctions via arms extending from cross-beams of the members. The junctions can be configured to provide a biasing force. Methods of using the device may include collapsing the device and inserting it through an incision, allowing the biasing force to cause continuous traction and counter-traction adjacent to a leading dissection edge so that retraction of the skin from the tissue can be facilitated during a surgical procedure.

  • Patent number: 9886436
Abstract: A device may obtain a set of documents, including at least two documents of different document types, for conversion to a uniform and an editable or a searchable format. The set of documents may include at least two documents of a different document type. The device may determine conversion information, associated with converting the set of documents, that includes an editable or a searchable document type to which the set of documents is to be converted. The device may determine zone information, associated with converting the set of documents, that includes information that identifies a portion of the set of documents that is to be converted. The device may generate a set of converted documents based on the conversion information and the zone information. Each document, of the set of converted documents, may be of the document type. The device may provide the set of converted documents.

  • Patent number: 9872536
Abstract: A shoe sole having improved cushioning characteristics is disclosed. The sole includes a midsole having a top layer of material and a bottom layer of material. In one embodiment, the top layer of material may be harder than the bottom layer of material. A pattern of lugs defining a wave may be formed on the bottom layer of material. The wave may generally be in the shape of sine wave so as to provide improved cushioning characteristics for the sole. An outsole may also be formed on the bottom layer of material and an upper may be connected to the top layer of material, such that a shoe is formed.

  • Patent number: 8539697
Abstract: A suspension heel is provided for use with footwear, such as high heeled shoes, to provide cushioning to the wearer. The suspension heel includes a heel shaft connected to the shoe sole and a compliant heel plug attached to the heel shaft. The shaft includes a cavity or other receptacle for receiving the compliant heel plug. The suspension heel provides cushioning as well as stability for the wearer of the footwear, while maintaining aesthetic style. A relief detail formed by the compliant heel plug and the shaft provides compliance by compressing when a force is applied. For instance, as a person walks in the shoe, ground contact applies a force to the suspension heel. The relief detail deforms or compresses in response to the force, attenuating it and providing cushioning to the wearer.

  • Patent number: 8408324
Abstract: A residue clearing apparatus for a shank of an agricultural implement includes a spoked wheel adapted for attachment to the implement such that the spoked wheel rotates about a wheel axis oriented substantially horizontal and perpendicular to an operating travel direction of the implement and forward of the shank. A drive is operative to rotate the spoked wheel. The spoked wheel is oriented such that ends of spokes of the spoked wheel pass above the ground forward of the shank, and such that the ends of the spokes of the spoked wheel pass adjacent to a front face of the shank. The spokes may be resiliently or pivotally mounted to the wheel.
