  • Patent number: 8954416
Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided for searching for files on the Internet. In one embodiment, the method may provide an application crawler that assembles and dynamically instantiates all components of a web page. The instantiated web application may then be analyzed to locate desired components on the web page. This may involve finding and analyzing all clickable items in the application, driving the web application by injecting events, and extracting information from the application and writing it to a file or database.

  • Patent number: 8463778
Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided for ranking files from an Internet search. In one embodiment, the method comprises sorting search result items based on a first clickthru popularity and a second clickthru popularity. The first clickthru popularity may be derived from clickthrus that occurred during a first time period. The second clickthru popularity may be derived from clickthrus that occurred during a second time period that is different from the first time period.

  • Publication number: 20130132605
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for delivering video content over a network, such as the Internet. Videos are identified and pre-processed by a web service and then separated into a plurality of segments. Based on user interests, video segments may be pre-fetched and stored by a client associated with a user. Upon receiving a selection from a user to play a video, the first video segment may begin playing instantaneously from a local cache. While the first video segment plays, subsequent video segments are transmitted from the web service to the client, so that the subsequent video segments will be ready for viewing at the client when playback of the first video segment has finished.

  • Publication number: 20120010884
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for displaying electronic multimedia content to a user. One computer-implemented method for manipulating electronic multimedia content includes generating, using a processor, a speech model and at least one speaker model of an individual speaker. The method further includes receiving electronic media content over a network; extracting an audio track from the electronic media content; and detecting speech segments within the electronic media content based on the speech model. The method further includes detecting a speaker segment within the electronic media content and calculating a probability of the detected speaker segment involving the individual speaker based on the at least one speaker model.

  • Publication number: 20110246440
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for displaying available or recommended electronic multimedia content to a user, including electronic media content on the Internet. According to one implementation, a method is provided that includes receiving a request from a user, the request specifying electronic media content desired by the user; analyzing an indexed web history of a plurality of other users, based on the request for desired content; and selecting and sorting a subset of available content groups, based on the request for desired content and the indexed web history. The method also includes selecting and sorting, for each selected and sorted content group, a subset of available content; providing instructions to display, to a user, the selected and sorted content groups along a first axis of a two-dimensional grid; and further providing instructions to display, to the user, the selected available content for each content group along a second axis of the two-dimensional grid.
