    Abstract: A neonate imaging system is provided. The neonate imaging system includes a neonate magnetic resonance imaging system and a mobile neonate incubator system adapted for connection to the neonate magnetic resonance imaging system. The mobile neonate incubator system has an extendable and retractable carriage configured to shuttle the neonate between the mobile neonate incubator system and the neonate magnetic resonance imaging system. A neonate magnetic resonance imaging system is also provided. The neonate magnetic resonance imaging system includes a cylindrical magnet. The cylindrical magnet has a bore with dimensions that approximate dimensions of the neonate. A mobile neonate incubator system is further provided. The mobile neonate incubator system has an extendable and retractable neonate shuttling carriage.

    Abstract: A gradient coil assembly and a method for manufacturing the gradient coil assembly is provided. The gradient coil assembly includes an insulator sheet formed into a tube extending along an axis. The assembly further includes a first electrically conductive sheet disposed on a first surface of the insulator sheet including a first plurality of electrically conductive paths and a second electrically conductive sheet disposed on a second surface of the insulator sheet including a second plurality of electrically conductive paths. Finally, the second plurality of electrically conductive paths is electrically coupled with a corresponding path of the first plurality of electrically conductive paths.

    Abstract: A cryogen pressure vessel assembly for a superconducting magnet comprises an inner former, an outer former, and an outer shell. The inner former has a plurality of superconducting magnet coils wound thereon, and the outer former has a plurality of bucking coils wound thereon. The inner former, the outer former, and the outer shell form a fluid boundary for a cryogen. In one aspect, a pressure face is formed on at least one of the coil formers, and a radial slot for receiving wires entering and exiting a coil is disposed in the pressure face. A plurality of wire clamps are positioned in the radial slot, with each wire clamp in the plurality of wire clamps including: a front face extending coplanar with the pressure face, a rear face opposite the front face, the rear face contacting a back surface of the radial slot, and a recess formed in the rear face, the recess forming a channel for passage of the wires.

    Abstract: An imaging system 10 is provided comprising an imaging magnet 16 having a magnet bore 18. A plurality of passive shims 26 is positioned within the magnet bore 18. A plurality of resistive shims 46 is also positioned within the magnet bore 18. A plurality of thermometers 28 is coupled thermally to a select number of the plurality of passive shims 26 and read a passive shim temperature 36. A controller 32 is in communication with the plurality of thermometers 28 and the plurality of resistive shims 46. The controller 32 includes logic adapted to adjust control currents 40 sent to each of the plurality of resistive shims 46 in response to the resistive shim temperatures 36 received from each of the thermometers 28 such that the strength of the magnetic field and its homogeneity is maintained.
