  • Publication number: 20080205565
Abstract: Receiver for receiving a data stream via a data bus, which receiver samples the bits of the data stream in an over-sampling process, in which n bit strobe offsets are used and n data sets with i bits are sampled,—applies a decision criterion for identifying those data sets with correct bit values. This decision uses checksum CRC,—selects one of the identified data sets with correct bit values and—uses the bit strobe offset, which was used for receiving the selected data streams, for receiving the data stream. In this way the multiphase clock with optimal phase shifts is selected.

  • Patent number: 7418650
Abstract: In order to carry out in a communication system (1) a temporal synchronization of clocks in a particularly rapid and efficient manner, a method is proposed which has the following steps: acquiring state values which are dependent on a time base (10); filing each acquired state value at a position in a first list L comprising (k+1) positions, if the acquired state value is smaller than or equal to the (k+1) smallest element of the list L, where k is a predefinable error tolerance; filing the acquired state value at a position in a second list H comprising (k+1) positions, if the acquired state value is greater than or equal to the (k+1) greatest element of the list H; forming a mean value from the (k+1) smallest element of the list L and the (k+1) greatest element of the list H, if the number of acquired state values is greater than or equal to (2k+2); determining a correction value as a function of the mean value; and correcting a current state value of the clocks that are to be synchronized.

  • Publication number: 20080201491
Abstract: The invention relates to an active star coupler based network handling of redundancy in the physical layer by transmitting a message to both regular (30, 32, 34, 36, 138, 140, 146) and redundant links (38, 148). In error free case the message is forwarded by the regular interface (12, 14, 16, 18, 114, 116, 122), while the redundant link (38, 148) is blocked. Each interface is equipped with a link failure detection logic (24, 132). If a link failure is detected, an incoming message is blocked and the affected interface controls the interface (20, 126) connected to the redundant link to take over message forwarding. If the link recovers, the regular interface takes over forwarding responsibility and the redundant link is disabled.

  • Patent number: 7269178
Abstract: The invention relates to a network comprising a plurality of network nodes. At least part of the network nodes are directly coupled to each other via at least one star node. The star node comprises a plurality of star interfaces which are assigned to at least one network node. In dependence on a respective pilot signal, a star interface conveys a message from the assigned network node to the other star interfaces, or from another star interface to at least one of the assigned network nodes. • Patent number: 7172510
Abstract: A hub member and shaft joint assembly includes an inner joint part of a constant velocity joint and a shaft journal. The hub member has a central through-aperture with inner toothing for receiving the shaft journal, and outer ball tracks. The inner toothing is formed in a predetermined limited length as far as a toothing run-out and is followed by a bore with a reduced diameter. The shaft journal has shaft toothing and, at a distance from the shaft end, a first conical step serving as a top face relative to the toothing run-out and directly contacting same. A larger second conical step is positioned axially spaced from the first step and forms a toothing end of the shaft toothing.

  • Publication number: 20060262814
Abstract: A time-triggered communication system in a dual-channel network of singlechannel architecture, wherein in each case one communication controller (2, 6) is assigned to one channel, and two corresponding communication controllers (2, 6) communicate with one another via an inter-channel interface (1a, 1b). Said inter-channel communication contains information about limiting points (G1, G2 . . . G12) of a time path. A limiting point (G1, G2 . . . G12) is, for example, the point in time when a cycle starts. The interchange of limiting points enables the temporal offset of the two channels to be determined as well as a correction value. After every two cycles also the rate error of the local clocks can be ascertained and a suitable correction value determined. The reliability of safety-relevant networks is increased by the time-triggered communication system described hereinabove.

  • Publication number: 20060233193
Abstract: A dual-channel network with in each case one communication controller (2, 6) for each of the two channels (A, B). In order to ensure that the two channels (A, B) operate on a temporally matched basis, an exchange of current states (“ready, “abort”) takes place via an external or an on-chip interface (1a, 1b). The cold start operation is carried out only if, and so long as, both communication controllers are in the “ready” state.

  • Publication number: 20060224394
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of transmitting user data via a communications medium (2) between subscribers (3) connected to the communications medium (2), wherein the data are transmitted in recurrent cycles (8) and at least one slot (9, 10) in each cycle (8) is intended for the user data of at least one subscriber (3). In order to permit a particularly efficient data transmission via the communications medium (2) at least one of the slots (10) is used to transmit the user data of different subscribers (3) (A, C, F) in different cycles (8). In addition, a bus guardian (6) of one subscriber (3) determines whether the subscriber (3) may transmit user data in the current slot (9, 10) of the current cycle (8), the bus guardian (6) having at least indirect access to a universal condition available throughout the entire communications system (1). In particular, an internal counter of the bus guardian (6) is synchronized to a universal cycle counter.

  • Publication number: 20060199652
Abstract: A connection of a first structural part with a second structural part by a toothing, where the first structural part has internal toothing and the second structural part has external toothing. The internal toothing and/or the external toothing have straight toothing, in which only part of the toothing has a defined irregularity with respect to the remaining part of the toothing. The irregularity produces a force for the prevention of relative movement between the structural parts. In addition, tools as well as a method for the production of such a connection are provided.
