  • Publication number: 20050225776
Abstract: The invention relates to arrangements and methods for improving the signal and transmission properties of laser/electro-optical mixers (EOM) of measuring and data transmission links. The idea of attempting to suppress coherent properties of laser light is novel since, until now, the aim has always been to obtain the greatest possible coherence or coherence length in most technical applications. The invention has the following features: suppressing coherence and intensity fluctuations in the beam path of laser EOM by using optical methods and suppressing the coherence in the output radiation of the laser source, e.g. by a remodulated current pulse modulation or excitation of a number of modes within a laser diode (VCSEL).

  • Patent number: 6810342
Abstract: According to the invention a reference measurement is carried out without or with only one measurement object and the frequencies of the noise fraction are determined for the resulting frequency spectrum. Discrete measurement values are determined at equidistant sampling points in the form of complex-value overlays of oscillation functions and the noise and useful frequencies and by means of mathematical calculation methods corrected by the noise fractions. The measurement values corrected in this way are then subjected to a known method of frequency analysis.

  • Patent number: 4792288
Abstract: The invention relates to a compressor (2) which is encapsulated in a housing (4) and which can be rotated about the axis (16) of its crankshaft (8) while maintaining the oil lubrication of the moving parts of the compressor. The interior (14) of the housing (4), in which an oil sump (18) is located, is connected flow-wise to the compressor (2). According to the invention, the interior (14) is connected to two gas lines (24, 26) which lead to a common manifold (32) via at least one shutoff valve (28, 30). The connecting openings (25, 27) of the two gas lines (24, 26) leading into the interior (14) are arranged opposite to one another in the vicinity of the axis (16) of the crankshaft (8). By these measures, the compressor can be inclined relative to the horizontal over a wide angular range without lubricating oil flow into the gas loop.

  • Patent number: 4729728
Abstract: Hermetically encapsulated rotary piston compressor with horizontally disposed, at least partially hollow crankshaft. The lubricating oil is sucked up by a dynamic vacuum created in a compressed gas line, out of an oil sump, by means of an oil suction pipe, and is conveyed together with the compressed gas into the hollow part of the crankshaft, which has inside the cylinder housing radial bores for oil supply to the moving parts of the compressor. According to the invention, the oil suction pipe is mounted for rotation about the axis of the crankshaft. Thereby the oil supply is maintained in any position resulting from any rotation of the compressor about the horizontal axis of its crankshaft.

Abstract: A vaporizing burner which includes a multi-portioned burner housing. The housing encompasses an inlet chamber, ahead of which there is located an antechamber which transitions into an annular passageway wherein heating oil is vaporized. The heating oil is admixed with preheated primary air and converted into a fuel gas in a catalyzer arrangement. Thereafter, the fuel gas is admixed with secondary air in a mixing chamber, ignited in an ignition chamber and conveyed into a further chamber.
