  • Patent number: 5956801
Abstract: An improved articulated wiper blade assembly includes a wiper blade sub-assembly having a female and male spline portions, and an internal stake located within the spline channel for preventing longitudinal movement of the male spline within the female spline channel while still permitting journaled rotation of the male spline within the female spline. The stake is preferably located adjacent to one end of the wiper blade sub-assembly, whereby the wiper blade sub-assembly can be cut at the opposing end thereof to a shorter length without affecting the stake. The stake extends inwardly from the female spline channel into a transverse notch preformed in the body of the male spline and engages the inner walls of the notch to prevent longitudinal movement in either direction. However, the notch still permits rotation of the male spline around the stake. Additional staked fingers and corresponding notches can be utilized to further prevent longitudinal movement of the male spline.

  • Patent number: 5918316
Abstract: A promotional clip-on accessory which is adapted to fold around a cap strap to carry a display panel thereon for displaying promotional material. The clip-on accessory is die cut from a vinyl plastic or cardstock sheet and is pre-scored to include two bi-fold hinges defining a central display panel and two opposite folding panels that are folded around the cap strap. A locking tab configuration is also disclosed for securing the accessory on the cap strap. A push-out outlocking tab is cut into one panel and, once the lower and upper panels have been folded around the back of the cap strap, may be pushed through a second tab in the opposing panel to lock the accessory in position around the cap strap. The accessory may also be cut to form a customized pop-out section which remains erect and coplanar with the front display panel after the accessory is applied to a cap strap, which gives the image of a front display panel custom cut in the shape of a design indicia.

  • Patent number: 5885077
Abstract: A known elastomeric non-methyl methacrylate soft material has been used as a soft denture liner material. The material includes powder and liquid components which are mixed together and cured. The invention involves lining an underlying surface of an acrylic overdenture, wherein the overdenture is applied over a crown coping over a tooth or over a post with a ball or hour-glass shaped abutment. A liner is formed having the characteristics of being flexible, resilient, shape retentive, hydrophobic, soft, spongy and cushiony. A known sealer component is then applied over the liner to create a non-absorbent exterior surface seal and glaze. By varying the powder to liquid ratio, the material can be made more dense thus hardening or softening it for various applications. By removing the exterior surface and roughening the material, it can easily be adjusted, repaired or refurbished. The material allows for a quick cure or a dental laboratory processed cure and is compatible for either chairside or laboratory use.

  • Patent number: 5797160
Abstract: An articulated twin spline windshield wiper blade assembly includes an elongated, resilient, thin-walled polymeric female spline of relatively high durometer having a generally planar backbone, and two opposing arcuate spline legs which extend downwardly from the backbone and cooperate with the backbone to define a cylindrical spline channel. The wiper blade assembly further includes an elastomeric male spline having a cylindrical body portion rotatably journaled within the spline channel of the female spline. The male spline further includes a neck portion depending from the body portion, and a wiping portion depending from the neck portion. The wiping portion includes opposing wiping edges which are alternately engagable with a surface to be wiped upon rotation of the male spline within the spline channel.

  • Patent number: 5678993
Abstract: A known elastomeric non-methyl methacrylate soft material has been used as a soft denture liner material. The material includes powder and liquid components which are mixed together and cured. The invention involves new uses of the material. Where the invention involves a lining over a void in an acrylic denture, the resultant mixture is applied over the underlying surface of the acrylic over the void to chemically and mechanically bond the mixture in a seamless bond to the underlying surface of acrylic. A liner is formed having the characteristics of being flexible, resilient, shape retentive, hydrophobic, soft, spongy and cushiony. A known sealer component is then applied over the liner to create a non-absorbent exterior surface seal and glaze. Where the method is used to apply a liner around an implant cylinder or an implant healing cap anchored into a jaw bone the resultant mixture is applied around the surface of the implant or healing cap for forming a liner or gasket.

  • Patent number: 5644814
Abstract: An articulated twin spline windshield wiper blade assembly for acceptance in the claws of a conventional windshield wiper arm assembly comprises a female spline having a circular channel therein for journaling of a cylindrical portion of a male spline. A portion of the male spline is truncated to define a channel for egress of water and debris and to minimize friction between the male and female splines.

  • Patent number: 5625919
Abstract: A dual articulated spline windshield wiper assembly for use in a conventional windshield wiper yoke and claw assembly comprises a relative high durometer plastic upper spline and a high durometer plastic lower spline that are coupled for relative rotation about a first axis, the lower spline having a low durometer wiping blade mounted thereon for limited rotation relative to the lower spline about a second axis parallel to said first axis.

  • Patent number: 5572764
Abstract: An articulated twin spline windshield wiper blade assembly for acceptance in the claws of a conventional windshield wiper arm assembly comprises a relative high durometer polymeric female spline having a circular channel therein for journaling of a male spline of a relatively low durometer elastomeric material. The female spline has a pair of oppositely directed flanges that are accepted in the claws of the wiper arm assembly and lie in a plane containing the central axis of the circular channel therein to minimize the moment of inertia of the female spline about an axis extending at a right angle to the central axis of the channel therein and parallel to a surface to be wiped.

  • Patent number: 5513988
Abstract: A known elastomeric methyl methacrylate-free soft material has been used as a denture reline material.
