  • Patent number: 11678978
Abstract: The invention relates to a lens case (50, 150) for accommodating an intraocular lens, IOL (1). The lens case (50, 150) comprises a lens case body (3, 103) and a sliding element (4, 104) which can slide on the lens case body from a first position to a second position. The lens case body (3, 103) comprises a longitudinal recess (32, 132), having a first part (32a, 132a) and a second part (32b, 132b), the first part (32a, 132a) being adapted to receive a side zone of the IOL (1) comprising at least one haptic (2), the second part (32b, 132b) being adapted to receive a narrower central zone of the IOL (1). The sliding element (4, 104) comprises a bolt (5, 105a) arranged adjacent a loading port (34, 134) of the second part (32b, 132b) of the recess (32, 132) for displacing the IOL (1) within the recess (32, 132).

  • Publication number: 20210186683
Abstract: An injection system for an intraocular lens (IOL) utilizes a folding device for the IOL. The folding device comprises a pair of co-acting winglets pivotable between an open position and a closed position, and together defining a hinge axis and a receptacle for the IOL. Each winglet has an outwardly extending, unitary leg portion defining a base plane that includes the hinge axis and a motion limiting protuberance on each said leg portion extending from the base plane. The base planes are situated at an angle relative to one another and the protuberances abut one another when the winglets are in the open position. The base planes merge into a single plane when the winglets are in the closed position.

  • Publication number: 20210059811
Abstract: For a safe injection of intraocular lenses, IOL, (1) an injector is provided comprising a cartridge (5) with a nozzle tube (8), a lens case (6), an injector body (2), an injection plunger (4) and a loading pusher (3). The cartridge (5) comprises two winglets (12, 13) connected to each other providing an open and a close position for the cartridge (5), the inner surface of the winglets forming an inner space for receiving the IOL, and moving the IOL (1) during closing the cartridge (5) from a level of loading plane (16), where the axis of the inner space coincides with the axis of the loading pusher, to a level of injection plane (17), where the axis of the inner space coincides with the axis of the injection plunger. The lens case (6) is attached to the injector body behind the cartridge and in an advantageous embodiments has an upper position and a lower position for preloaded IOL (1).
