Abstract: A method for determining a characteristic of at least one position parameter, in particular of a disruption in the position parameter, of a track for a vehicle, in which detection values of at least one detection parameter affected by the position parameter are detected on a vehicle driving along a section of the track, and wherein the at least one position parameter for the track section is determined from the detection values. The current value of the position parameter is determined from the detection values as a function of the model data of a previously determined vehicle model of the vehicle, wherein a relationship between the position parameter and the at least one detection parameter affected by the position parameter is generated by way of the vehicle model.

Abstract: A device is provided for tensioning lines (ropes, cables or wires). In order to improve a device for gripping and tensioning ropes, cables or wires, particularly in sheet or hoisting winches or windlasses, in tackles or pulley blocks or pulley lifting tackle, permanently or operationally interconnected coniform discs are provided which can be actuated by motor or by hand via a crank or a tackle line, and which exhibit surface contours, such that with only a single loop of the tensioning line a secure clamping effect of the coniform discs on cable put through in only a single loop is attained without the occurrence of wear or snapping of the tensioning line. Putting through and releasing (slackening) of the line is facilitated, and the improvement takes effect with respect to both rotation directions independent of the direction. The surface contouring of the discs is implemented as inwardly directed radial waves of the described form which are designed as straight lines or curves.

Abstract: A device for inflating the floating body of lifesaving equipment, in which gas under pressure is released from a compressed gas containing container, normally closed by a diaphragm, into lifesaving equipment to be inflated, by causing a striker to pierce the diaphragm. The striker is movable against the diaphragm, selectively by a manually operable lever or by the thrust of a spring. In the last mentioned instance, a spring is held in its loaded condition by a control element having a section adapted to disintegrate in water. A lever system including a pivoting lever operatively engages the striker. When the pivoting lever is in its ineffective position and the spring is in loaded condition, the pivoting lever is continuously urged to its effective position, in which the lever system causes the striker to pierce the diaphragm.
