  • Patent number: 9516238
Abstract: A method and apparatus apply one of a plurality of different levels of noise suppression to a pixel based on a difference between illuminance values for the pixel in the presence of (a) both a flash and ambient light and (b) without the flash.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 10, 2011
Date of Patent: December 6, 2016
    Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
Inventors: Peter I. Majewicz, Jennifer L. Melin
  • Publication number: 20130016262
Abstract: One example discloses a method for producing an image of a scene. An ambient image of the scene illuminated only by ambient light is captured. A percentage of pixels in the calibration image having a digital count greater than a threshold digital count is determined. A first image capture technique is performed if a percentage of pixels in the ambient image having a digital count greater than a threshold digital count is above a threshold percentage. A second image capture technique is performed if the percentage of pixels in the ambient image having a digital count greater than a threshold digital count is not above the threshold percentage.

  • Patent number: 7525684
Abstract: In one embodiment, a color calibration method includes rendering a color image, in response to a user selecting an adjustment to a color in the image, making a perceptually uniform adjustment to the color in the image, and rendering an adjusted color image reflecting the adjustment made to the color in the image.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 14, 2003
Date of Patent: April 28, 2009

  • Patent number: 6825866
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a high resolution LED array. A plurality of LED chips are provided to form the LED array. Each LED chip has an electrode that is inward biased at each end of the chip by a predetermined amount. The size of each LED chip is removed by reducing, at each end of each chip, an amount of chip material substantially equal to the predetermined amount. The array is formed by placing each chip end to end with a gap between each chip, wherein the gap is suitably large for placement accuracies and a consistent pitch of 21.2 &mgr;m is maintained between each LED on each chip.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 10, 2002
Date of Patent: November 30, 2004
    Assignee: Xerox Corporation
