Abstract: A method and system for providing a user interface of a mobile communication terminal. The method includes displaying, on an active display, a first view having an application zone and a control zone, the control zone having a plurality of control items, one control item of the plurality of control items being in focus, and the application zone being a display area for a first application, as a response to a first input, shifting focus along a first direction from a focused control item being in focus prior to the first input being effected, to a control item being displayed along the first direction from the focused control item, and as a response to a second input, running software code associated with a control item being in focus when the second input is effected. A corresponding mobile communication terminal and computer program product are also presented.

Abstract: A phone number database has a first group of memory locations with associated speed dialing facility and a second group of memory locations without speed dialing facility. A phone number may be provided with speed dialing facility when this phone number is already stored without speed dialing facility in the second group by indicating the phone number whose speed dialing status is to be changed, indicating a memory location with a phone number with the desired speed dialing status, and interchanging the speed dialing status of the two phone numbers.

Abstract: When it is attempted to enter a phone number and a corresponding ID name into an already full phone book database for a phone, the phone temporarily stores the phone number and ID name in an intermediate memory. Then the phone asks the user whether he wants to overwrite an existing phone number and ID name in a memory location of the phone book. The user is allowed to point out a memory location to overwrite, and then the contents of the intermediate memory are transferred to the memory location pointed out for storage.

Abstract: A phone is provided with a set of keys and a controller which monitors the status of the phone. The set of keys comprises a call handling key for establishing and terminating a call. The functionality of the call handling key is controlled by the controller in dependence on the status of the phone, and said set of keys comprises a key for rejecting an incoming call.
