Publication number: 20240140661Abstract: A bottle assembly has a bottle and a removable cap. The cap includes a nozzle and a vent arrangement. The vent arrangement can include a vent conduit that extends into an air cavity present at the bottom of the bottle assembly when the bottle assembly is inverted. The vent arrangement allows for pressure equalization within the bottom assembly in response to liquid being dispensed from the bottle assembly to permit high flow rates of the dispensed liquid without squeezing of the bottle.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2023Publication date: May 2, 2024Inventors: Carina Mary Hamel, Robert Hart Ringer, Peter William Hazelett, Casey J. Publication number: 20240071593Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that provide smart alerts to users, e.g., alerts to users about diabetic states that are only provided when it makes sense to do so, e.g., when the system can predict or estimate that the user is not already cognitively aware of their current condition, e.g., particularly where the current condition is a diabetic state warranting attention. In this way, the alert or alarm is personalized and made particularly effective for that user. Such systems and methods still alert the user when action is necessary, e.g., a bolus or temporary basal rate change, or provide a response to a missed bolus or a need for correction, but do not alert when action is unnecessary, e.g., if the user is already estimated or predicted to be cognitively aware of the diabetic state warranting attention, or if corrective action was already taken.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2023Publication date: February 29, 2024Inventors: Anna Leigh DAVIS, Scott M. Patent number: 10598404Abstract: A damper regulator for controlling the opening/closing characteristics of an HVAC damper has a swing arm coupled to the shaft on which the damper pivots. The swing arm has an arm carriage mounted to translate on the swing arm as the swing arm pivots, and a biasing spring connects the arm carriage to the damper regulator's housing, or to another suitable anchor. The translation of the arm carriage effectively adapts the characteristics of the biasing spring so that the damper need not be subjected to ever-increasing pressure to achieve greater airflow, or so that other damper opening characteristics can be achieved.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2017Date of Patent: March 24, 2020Assignee: RESEARCH PRODUCTS CORPORATIONInventors: Peter J. Davis, Thomas J. Anoszko

Patent number: 8367163Abstract: An enamel flow coating process and apparatus is arranged as a four arm Ferris wheel like apparatus which is mounted over a bathtub like tank which holds enamel slip. Coils of steel tubing formed into heat exchangers are mounted to the arms of the wheel to rotate and to pivot. The wheel is rotated between four stations. In the first station, a coil is loaded onto the wheel. In a second station the coil is pivoted into the tank of enamel slip, where it is coated, and withdrawn by operation of a pivoting bracket. The coated coils are rotated through third and fourth stations where the coating solidifies, and the coated heat exchanger is removed, and replaced with an uncoated one in the first station. After leaving the wheel, the heat exchanger is fired and installed in a water storage tank.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2008Date of Patent: February 5, 2013Assignee: Bock Water Heaters, Inc.Inventors: Michael B. Steinhafel, Mutubwa K. Kahite, Peter J. Davis, Mark L. Kallas, Randall E. Malson, Edward A. Goehring

Electrical adapter for medical diagnostic instruments using replaceable LEDs as illumination sources
Patent number: 7458934Abstract: An LED for use with a medical diagnostic instrument having an adapter disposed between an instrument head and a hand-grippable handle, the LED being removably attachable in relation to the adapter in order to permit selective replacement of the LED, as needed. The LED is situated in order to provide mechanical and electrical interface with at least one of the adapter and the instrument, thereby enabling the adapter and the LED to convert the illumination source of the instrument selectively between an incandescent light source and the LED. The adapter matches a polarity between the LED and a power supply that is specifically intended for powering an incandescent light source.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2007Date of Patent: December 2, 2008Assignee: Welch Allyn, Inc.Inventors: Chris R.
