    Abstract: A waterproof pulse oximeter sensor assembly configured to monitor vitals of a swimmer including a pulse oximeter sensor configured to evaluate conditions in a finger or a wrist of a swimmer and generate a pulse-ox signal in response thereto. A waterproof electronics compartment includes electronics configured to electrically receive the pulse-ox signal from the pulse oximeter sensor, and determine a heartbeat rate and/or a blood oxygen saturation level from the pulse-ox signal. The electronics generate an output signal that is based on the determined heartbeat rate and/or blood oxygen saturation level. An indicator proximate the electronics compartment is configured to receive the output signal and display an indication. A power source supplies electric power to the pulse oximeter sensor, electronics, and the indicator. The power source is recharged during use of the waterproof pulse oximeter sensor assembly by the swimmer.
