  • Publication number: 20230354500
Abstract: A ballast transformer and system using the ballast transformer to couple power to a plasma load. The ballast transformer has a magnetic core, a first primary winding on a primary side of the magnetic core, a secondary winding on a secondary side of the magnetic core, and a second primary winding connected in series with the first primary winding and wound in proximity to the secondary winding on the secondary side of the magnetic core. The first primary winding is connectable to the AC power source, and the secondary winding is connectable to the plasma load via a coaxial cable.

  • Publication number: 20230173133
Abstract: A plasma filter for treating a gas flow therethrough. The filter has a dielectric barrier plasma electrode assembly including a plurality of electrodes having a dielectric barrier layer coated thereon. The dielectric barrier plasma electrode assembly is configured to produce an atmospheric pressure plasma, A filtration medium is disposed on or between the electrodes, and a photocatalytic material is formed on surfaces of the filtration medium. Upon operation of the plasma filter, the plasma infiltrates voids in the filtration medium, and the gas flow through the filtration medium a) is exposed to reactive species of the plasma, b) interacts with the catalytic material, and c) is exposed to light generated from the plasma.

  • Patent number: 8133324
Abstract: The invention provides a method for the at least partial removal of one or more polymeric coating layers from a coated substrate having at least one coated surface. The method includes generating at least one reactive species in an ionized gas stream discharged at atmospheric pressure; and placing the coated surface in the ionized gas stream. The at least one reactive species reacts with the one or more polymeric coating layers such that one or more coating layers is at least partially removed from the coated surface of the substrate at atmospheric pressure.
