Abstract: A smoking article is described in which the smoking article comprises tobacco material wrapped in a paper wrapper to form a tobacco rod, and wherein the paper wrapper has a diffusivity of between about 0.1 cm/s and 0.5 cm/s and a permeability of less than about 15 CU, and a method of manufacturing the smoking article is described.

Abstract: An aerosol generating component for a tobacco heating device includes an aerosol generating material, a mouthpiece downstream of the aerosol generating material, a first wrapper comprising a first sheet material and surrounding at least a portion of the aerosol generating material and a second wrapper comprising a second sheet material and surrounding at least a portion of the mouthpiece. The thermal conductivity of the first sheet material is higher than the thermal conductivity of the second sheet material. There is also described a mouthpiece for an aerosol generating component for a tobacco heating device, the mouthpiece comprising one or more wrappers wherein at least one of the one or more wrappers comprises a sheet material having a density in the range 0.2 g/cm3 to 0.45 g/cm3.

Abstract: The invention describes a filter (1) with a first filter portion (6) comprising an adsorbent, for example carbon, and/or a catalyst, capable of reducing various vapor phase constituents of cigarette smoke. The adsorbent/catalyst is separated from a second filter portion by means of a barrier (2) having pores therein of pore size less than 0.1 ?m. The invention also describes a smoking article in which a rod of smoking material, with or without encapsulated flavor, is attached to the above described filter.

Abstract: A smoking article such as a cigarette, or a smoke filter or other component thereof, comprises a catalyst for the oxidation of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide. The catalyst comprises gold, and an oxide of zinc or titanium. Titania and mixed oxides of zinc and copper or aluminum are preferred (TiO2, ZnO, ZnAlOx or CuZnOx). The gold preferably comprises species in the metallic state)(Au0), together with species in an oxidized state (Au?+).
