Abstract: The invention relates to alkoxy-crosslinking RTV1 silicone rubber mixtures based on hydroxy-terminated polydiorganosiloxanes containing a trialkoxysilane with a substituted amidoalkyl radical, which can be prepared using conventional mixing technologies. The novel RTV1 silicone rubber mixtures cure rapidly and without tack to give products with good mechanical properties. The shelf-life of the mixtures is excellent. One particular advantage of this invention is that it is also possible to create systems in which crosslinking produces only elimination products which are completely free from toxic methanol.

Abstract: A mixture of oligomers of alkylalkoxysilanes condensed in the chain and/or cyclic form, said mixture of oligomers containing less than 2% by weight of free alcohols and the condensed alkoxysilanes satisfying formula I: ##STR1## wherein R is an alkyl group having 3 to 18 carbon atoms, and each R' is a member (i) selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl or hydrogen, or is (ii) methyl or hydrogen, or is (iii) ethyl or hydrogen, the degree of oligomerization being in the range 2.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.20 and the quotient of the molar ratio ?Si/alkoxy group!.gtoreq.1; and/orsatisfying formula II: ##STR2## in which R is an alkyl group having 3 to 18 carbon atoms, and each R' is a member (i) selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl or hydrogen, or is (ii) methyl or hydrogen or is (iii) ethyl or hydrogen, the degree of oligomerization being x.gtoreq.3 and the quotient of the molar ratio ?Si/alkoxy group!.gtoreq.1.

Abstract: Organopolysiloxane-containing, water-based compositions which are essentially free from organic solvents, have a flash point of above 70.degree. C. and liberate essentially no alcohols through hydrolysis on dilution with water, and which contain, as functional groups, glycidyl ether alkyl, acryloxyalkyl and/or methacryloxyalkyl groups, where each silicon in the organopolysiloxane carries one functional group, as well to a process for the preparation of such organopolysiloxane-containing compositions and to their use.

Abstract: Organocarbonoyloxysilanes are prepared by reacting an organochlorosilane with a carboxylic acid in a first step which liberates HCl, removing the HCl which is formed, reacting the reaction mixture from the first step with a carboxylic acid anhydride in a second reaction step, the first and/or second reaction steps being conducted in the presence of a catalyst, and isolating the resulting organocarbonoyloxysilane product from the reaction mixture.
