The method consists of calculating the media selection percentage of a given medium presented to consumers and utilizing the calculated media selection percentage in evaluating the likelihood of success of similar medium in the market place. Companies may utilize the media selection percentage to select the most effective media for their products. The media's selection percentage can also be used to connect people with similar interests as a social networking tool. Individuals that select the same medium are likely to be interested in similar activities, products, or lifestyles. As a result, individuals that select similar media have similar interests upon which to build a network.
