  • Publication number: 20070213111
Abstract: Games are provided to be played in conjunction with a DVD player. Game instructions and commands may be recorded on DVD media with clips that present activities to the players. Clips may be randomly selected and completion of the activities presented may affect the scores of the players or teams. The activities may be associated with different skill sets. Players may also be provided with a board and tokens. Players may be provided with a remote game device that can receive information from the DVD player. Players may also have a game board that can recognize tokens and their placement on the game board and transmit that information to the DVD player. The game board may be able to receive information from the DVD player and display the information on a screen on the board.

  • Publication number: 20060121965
Abstract: A gaming system for use with a media player and one or more output devices, where the media player is configured to receive user signals, to read and execute information from a game medium, and to present portions of the information on the one or more output devices. The gaming system includes a first remote unit configured to transmit signals corresponding to a first user and a second remote unit configured to transmit signals corresponding to a second user. The gaming system also includes a game medium having information readable by the media player that, when executed, causes the media player to produce a game having a plurality of scenes. Each scene causes the media player to selectively respond to the reception of user signals.

  • Publication number: 20060111183
Abstract: A remote control for use with a media player coupled to an output device, where the media player is configured to receive signals from the remote control, to read and execute information stored on a game medium, and to cause the output device to transmit one or more generated signals in response to reading and executing portions of the information stored on the game medium. The remote control includes a controller, an input coupled to the controller, a transmitter coupled to the controller, and a receiver coupled to the controller. The controller is configured to selectively operate in a first mode that causes the transmitter to transmit a signal upon user actuation of the input, and a second mode that causes the transmitter to transmit no signal upon user actuation of the input. The reception of a first generated signal by the receiver causes the controller to operate in the first mode. The reception of a second generated signal by the receiver causes the controller to operate in the second mode.

  • Publication number: 20060111166
Abstract: A game medium whose contents cause a media player to produce a game by sequentially presenting a plurality of solutions, and a puzzle corresponding to the plurality of solutions, with one or more output devices. The plurality of solutions includes at least one correct solution to the puzzle. The game medium's contents also cause the media player to produce a game by receiving a first signal at the media player indicating that a first player wants to attempt to select the correct solution, receiving a second signal at the media player corresponding to a selection of one of the plurality of solutions by the first player, and presenting on at least one of the one or more output devices an indication as to whether the first player selected a correct solution.
