As a result, the composition is particularly suitable as a dowelling composition for fastening anchor rods in boreholes.

    Abstract: A cartridge for securing anchor members in a borehole in a hard receiving material holds separated components of a hardenable mass. The cartridge is formed of an axially extending outer casing enclosing an inner casing forming separate compartments within the outer casing. A first hardenable mass component is contained within the outer casing about the inner casing which holds a second component. In addition, filler material can be included in one of the components. An axially extending jacket of a foam material laterally encloses the outer casing. The jacket fills the space in a borehole between the outer casing and the borehole wall. The outer surface of the jacket has axially extending grooves for the outflow of water when the cartridge and jacket is inserted into a borehole. Further, the jacket serves to temporarily hold the cartridge in a borehole.

    Abstract: A container for a hardenable multicomponent mass, used in anchoring a fastening member in a bore hole, has blind holes forming chambers. The chambers extend axially and are parallel to one another. The blind holes are arranged to receive individual components of the multicomponent mass. The container is formed of a destructable material, preferably a ceramic. When the container is broken or destroyed, the components mix to form the hardenable mass. The open ends of the blind holes are sealed by a cover after the components are filled into the chambers. The cover is located at an end face of the container.

The ball has only a punctiform contact with the element, accordingly, the frictional engagement between the ball and the element developed while an anchor element is being screwed in is very small, so that the installation tool can be unscrewed easily from the anchor element after the element is installed.

Initially, the containers are separate with partitions located in their interconnecting regions. The partitions can be removed either before or after the containers are connected together. Following the mixing operation, a piston within the cartridge can press out or dispense the mass through an outlet nozzle formed on one of the containers.

The anchor member can be secured in a borehole in a receiving material by a hardenable mass. With the centering action afforded by the tip, damage to the jacket is prevented as the anchor member is inserted into the borehole.

    Abstract: In a hand tool for the mixing and metered dispensing of a two-component mass, a container holding a solid component mass is mounted in a handgun-like shaped support member. A mixing chamber is aligned with and mounted on one end of the container for mixing the components of the mass. A motor in the support member drives a drive shaft extending axially through the container. A mixing worm is connected to the drive shaft and is located within the mixing chamber. A metering pump is located within the support member for delivering a liquid component of the mass from a tank. The metering pump is a hose pump powered by the drive shaft. A conveying helix is positioned on the drive shaft in the container. Accordingly, since the drive shaft powers the metering pump and the conveying helix, a fixed mixture ratio of the solid and liquid components is delivered into the mixing chamber independently of the quantity dispensed. The mixed components flow out of the mixing chamber through a dispensing nozzle.

    Abstract: A multi-chambered cartridge contains a hardenable mass including resin, a hardener and filler members for securing an anchor rod or the like in a borehole. The cartridge is formed with an outer casing and at least one inner casing. The outer casing is axially elongated and has a first end and a second end with the first end arranged to be inserted first into the borehole. Filler members are placed within the outer casing at the second end. The space between the filler members at the second end and the first end is filled with resin and filler members with the hardener maintained separate from the other components. With this arrangement of the components of the hardenable mass within the outer casing, a low viscosity resin can be employed which does not flow out of the second end when the cartridge is destroyed.

    Abstract: A destructible container is arranged to maintain the components of a multi-component settable mass in separate regions until they are ready to be mixed for anchoring a fastener member in a borehole. The container is made up of an elongated outer cartridge and an inner cartridge positioned within the outer cartridge so that a space for one of the components is formed between the inner cartridge and the outer cartridge. The multi-component mass includes a resin component filled into the outer cartridge and a hardenable component filled into the inner cartridge. The space within the outer cartridge is divided into two separate regions, preferably one following the other in the elongated direction of the outer cartridge. The resin component is present in each region, however, a thixotropic agent is included in one region but not the other so that the viscosity of the resin component is greatly increased within the one region.

    Abstract: An expansion dowel formed of an axially extending metal sleeve has slots extending axially from its leading end for a portion of its length toward its trailing end. The bore through the sleeve consists of a threaded portion extending from the trailing end and a frusto-conically shaped portion extending from the threaded portion to the leading end of the sleeve. After the sleeve is inserted into a borehole in a receiving material it is anchored in the borehole by displacing a frusto-conically shaped cone through the frusto-conically shaped portion of the bore toward the leading end of the sleeve. The trailing end of the cone is located within the sleeve axially inwardly of the trailing ends of the slots. A flowable substance is injected into the bore of the sleeve so that it flows outwardly through the slots into the open spaces between the outside surface of the sleeve and the surface of the borehole. The flowable substance includes a material for protecting the sleeve against corrosion.
