  • Patent number: 6597152
Abstract: A splitting adapter for a battery charger having a power cord for connection to an electrical source, the charger having a single charging receptacle for receiving a connector extension of a battery pack of the type used with cordless power tools, said adapter including a housing having a housing connector extension with a sufficiently similar structural and electrical configuration as the connector extension of the battery pack so that the housing can be electrically connected to the battery charger when said housing connector extension is inserted into the charging receptacle. The splitting adapter also includes at least two charging receptacles, each of which is configured to receive a battery pack connector extension, where the charging receptacles are spaced from one another a sufficient distance that the battery packs will not interfere with one another when inserted into the adapter.

  • Publication number: 20030101717
Abstract: A diesel particle filter for lowering the emission of particles contained in the exhaust gas of a Diesel engine, is disclosed with the impaction surface of the diesel particle filter is developed such that binding forces of the ash to filter is lowered. Therefore, the adhesion of noncombustible ash particles occurs, if at all, on the impaction surface of the diesel particle filter at only with such binding forces that more the ash particles can be removed from this surface of the diesel particle filter with a fluid and/or by vibrational effects.

  • Publication number: 20030085006
Abstract: A screen element is provided for motor vehicles, in which a piece of flat material extends in a surface area. The piece of flat material has strands which are inherently stiff to enable the flat material to stand alone without a frame. The strands also provide primary stability for the screen element. A frame is provided on at least one edge area of the piece of flat material. The frame providies secondary stability for the screen element.

  • Publication number: 20020195188
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to produce a thin porous layer, with a defined porosity and also, a high strength. Said aim is achieved, whereby such a layer with open porosity is produced from a mixture, comprising a sinterable powder with a predetermined powder particle size distribution. The sintered layer is of a thickness, which corresponds to about triple the average diameter of the powder particles employed, has a pore diameter in the range from 0.01 to 50 &mgr;m and a tensile strength of in a range from about 5 to 500 N/mm2. The invention further relates to a method for the production of said thin porous layer with open porosity.

  • Patent number: 6320306
Abstract: A shadow mask for color picture tubes has a cathode-side surface covered with a heat-insulating layer, an electron reflecting and absorbing layer, and a heat-emitting cover layer. Some of the electrons are reflected while others are absorbed in the cover layer and transformed to heat, but the heat does not act directly on the mask and is emitted into the interior of the tube. Local temperature differences which particularly occur with high contrast pictures and cause partial doming of the perforated mask are reduced.

  • Patent number: 6144147
Abstract: A shadow mask for a color picture tube a thermal includes insulating layer preventing heat transfer to an apertured shadow mask. The side of the mask directed toward the cathode of the color picture tube is coated with a heat-insulating layer including particles having a porous structure. The pores may contain heavy metals or heavy metal compounds so that electron reflection and absorption occurs directly within the layer. The resulting heat is transferred to the interior of the picture tube instead of to the mask.

  • Patent number: 6090977
Abstract: In a process for the continuous heterogeneously catalyzed gas-phase partial oxidation of an organic compound in an oxidation reactor, whose feed gas mixture comprises, apart from the organic compound to be partially oxidized and molecular oxygen as oxidant, at least one diluent gas which is essentially inert under the conditions of the heterogeneously catalyzed gas-phase partial oxidation, where the essentially inert diluent gas consists partly of combustible gases, after passage through the oxidation reactor, the combustible constituents of the inert diluent gas present in the product gas stream leaving the oxidation reactor are not recirculated to the heterogeneously catalyzed gas-phase partial oxidation, but are put to further use for the purposes of another chemical reaction.
