  • Patent number: 6690705
Abstract: A method for exciting chemical bonds in molecules using an electromagnetic field includes the step of generating a plurality of electromagnetic oscillation modes. The oscillation modes redistributing respective mode energies between themselves. Energy derived from the redistributed mode energies is used to impart energy to at least one pair of electrons comprising a chemical bond, thus exciting these electrons. The process can be used even when all electrons are paired. The method can be used for synthesizing compounds, quantum mechanical pumping of chemical bonds and for characterization of materials. • Patent number: 5926987
Abstract: The cartridge indicator is a rod slidably mounted in a cavity in the breech slide of a firearm to allow checking for the presence of a cartridge in the chamber. The rod has a check end which protrudes out of the breech slide as biased by a spring at the chamber end of the rod in the cavity. The chamber end of the rod has attached a chamber pin which slides in a pin cavity in the breech slide. When the check end is pushed into the breech slide by the user, if the chamber has no cartridge, the chamber pin moves into the chamber and the check end is pushed into the breech slide thereby indicating an empty chamber. If the chamber pin encounters a cartridge, the check end can not be pushed into the breech slide.

  • Patent number: 5611299
Abstract: A boiler has an exterior housing, and a water-cooled fire chamber within the exterior housing having a rear face wall and a front face wall. A door is provided on an end of the exterior housing, and forms the front face wall of the fire chamber. The door is cooled by water circulating therein and has an opening therethrough for a burner producing a flame. The boiler includes an insert having an opening therethrough. The insert surrounds the door opening and is secured to an inside of the door to project into the fire chamber so that the insert opening is essentially aligned with the door opening. The insert is cooled by the water circulating through the door and reduces a cross-sectional area of the fire chamber available for the flame over a portion of the length of the fire chamber. Also provided is a water-cooled partition located in a rear portion of the fire chamber in front of the rear face wall for dividing the flame.

  • Patent number: 4945628
Abstract: A tool store device comprises a stnad having a base and a support frame on which is supported a tool carrier. The tool carrier is constructed as a semi-spherical shell which is rotatable about a horizontal axis and carries tools which are densely arranged thereon with their longitudinal axes extending at right angles to the store surface. On the inside of the tool carrier there is positioned an advance unit having a displacement unit and a gripper which are rotatably mounted in the support frame about a vertical axis passing through the center (M) of the imaginary ball of which the semi-spherical shell of the tool carrier is the part. The advance unit cooperates with a tool changer, which has a swivel arm swivellable about the horizontal axis. A tool double gripper is fixed to the arm. The advance unit can advance a tool at a random point of the tool carrier to a transfer station, where it can be taken over by the double tool gripper.

  • Patent number: 4920631
Abstract: A tool rack includes a rotor mounted in a rotary manner on a column and carrying on its circumference tool magazines in a tight, uninterrupted arrangement over the entire circumference thereof, so that there is no possibility of access for a tool interchanger to the individual tools. A displacement unit with displacement arms positioned above and below the rotor is used for the access to a tool. The displacement arms have magazine grippers which grip a desired, displayed magazine, and advance it over the length of the tools of the adjacent tool holders. By means of the tool interchanger it is now possible to grip the desired tool and bring it to a use point. The rotor thus can be provided with a maximum number of tools, but still permits a very rapid tool exchange, which is particularly advantageous in the case of single-spindle working machines.

  • Patent number: 4783902
Abstract: A rotor having an upper and a lower track is rotatably mounted on a column. Tool magazines equipped with running devices are mounted on the tracks. On a store frame is fixed a first gripper mechanism having second lifting units enabling a selected tool magazine to be blocked on the rotor and brought into the loading and unloading position. A second gripper mechanism is mounted on the rotor and is used for seeking a selected tool magazine, for securing it to the rotor and bringing to the first gripper mechanism. By forming a magazine free section on the rotor, a display arm and a loading and unloading station can be used to remove tools from the store and return them again. By using a further display arm, tools can be changed manually or by means of a portal loader during the machining time. As only one magazine-free section is required for loading and unloading, the store can have a much a higher store capacity than known stores.
