  • Patent number: 9355100
Abstract: Methods, systems, devices, apparatus and computer-program products are defined for reconciling different versions of media content lists that concurrently exist in a communication network. The merged media content lists are based on foreseen user expectations, taking into account typical user behavior. The merged media content lists includes the merge of media content acquisition priority lists that are maintained and routinely updated by the associated media content user.

  • Patent number: 8670762
Abstract: In a wireless communication system in which a user using a mobile equipment requests a serving cell handoff from a source cell to a target cell, the mobile equipment monitors authorization for the handoff from the target cell. At the same time, the mobile equipment can decode data from either the source cell or the target cell. Upon receipt of authorization for the handoff, the mobile equipment sends confirmation of the handoff to the target cell.

  • Publication number: 20080101280
Abstract: Techniques for reporting channel quality indicators (CQIs) are described. Data activity at a receiver may be determined, and CQI reporting by the receiver may be adjusted based on the determined data activity. In one design, CQI reporting may be enabled for a time window around each expected packet arrival for a periodic or quasi-periodic transmission and may be suspended outside of the time window. In another design, CQI reporting may be varied based on ACK/NACK feedback. In yet another design, CQIs may be sent at a first rate when data activity is not detected and at a second rate faster than the first rate when data activity is detected. In yet another design, CQIs may be sent only during discontinuous transmission (DTX) ON periods when data activity is not detected and may be sent during both DTX ON and OFF periods when data activity is detected.

  • Patent number: 4766253
Abstract: The invention relates to a novel process for preparing chlorodiphenyl ethers of the formula I ##STR1## in which R is hydrogen or chlorine, which comprises heating a material of the formula III ##STR2## in which X is one equivalent of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal ion and R is as defined above, in an excess of a dichlorobenzene of the formula II ##STR3## in the presence of a copper catalyst and of an aprotic solvent as cocatalyst at temperatures of 120.degree.-220.degree.
