  • Patent number: 6065965
Abstract: A deice for curing a photocurable plastic filler (6) disposed in a dental cavity (2) of a hard tooth substance (4) includes a laser light source (10) and a light conductor (11) leading from the laser light source (10) to an applicator (14). The applicator (14) is utilized to apply drops of the plastic filler (6) upon the dental cavity alternating with an intermittent operation of the laser light source (10).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 5, 1998
Date of Patent: May 23, 2000
    Inventor: Peter Rechmann
  • Patent number: 5795153
Abstract: In a device for the removal of deposits (8,10,12) on teeth (2), comprising a laser light source for a pulsed laser light beam, provided with a light conductor leading to an applicator, it is provided that the laser light source emits a laser light beam having a wavelength from 300 to 600 nm and an energy density of 0.5 to 10 J/cm.sup.2.

  • Patent number: 5501599
Abstract: A method of removing carious tooth material is effected by creating a laser light beam from a pulsed laser light source, and utilize a flexible light guide to direct the laser light beam as a light spot on carious tooth material of a tooth. The light source has a wavelength in the range from substantially 320 to 520 nm and the energy density per pulse in the light spot is substantially 0.14 to about 7.0 J/cm.sup.2.
