  • Patent number: 7774165
Abstract: Provided is a method for monitoring measurement data by way of measurement channels. The measurement channels are processed in a plurality of time series of state values with mutually different time bases. Limit value ranges are ascertained in a learning phase and monitoring-related steps are triggered in a monitoring phase when limit values are exceeded. A good value extent is calculated for a time series with an upper and a lower limit value, with the inclusion of a limit value range which is predetermined in the learning phase and a state base value of the time series, which is determined in the monitoring phase.

  • Publication number: 20080052040
Abstract: In order further to improve the monitoring of technical processes, in particular still more precisely to differentiate the influences on monitoring which are caused by depreciation or wear from the external influences, there is described a method in which measurement data are detected by way of measurement channels and the measurement data of a measurement channel are processed in a plurality of time series of state values with mutually different time bases and wherein limit value ranges are ascertained in a learning phase and monitoring-related steps are triggered in a monitoring phase when limit values are exceeded. The method according to the invention is distinguished in that in the monitoring phase a good value extent in respect of the state values is calculated for a time series with an upper and a lower limit value, with the inclusion of a limit value range which is predetermined in the learning phase and a state base value of the time series, which is determined in the monitoring phase.

  • Patent number: 7113871
Abstract: The invention makes a contribution in order that machines and installations are better utilized, their service life is extended, reliability is improved, the loss of valuable materials is avoided, test results are optimized, and energy consumption is diminished. It is an expert system that acquires and assesses the condition of installations, machines and apparatuses. The mechanism proceeds from a normal condition and permanently observes short-term, medium-term and long-term changes. If variations in the normal condition are detected promptly, major instances of damage can be avoided by promptly performing corrective actions before major instances of damage associated with prolonged downtimes occur.

  • Patent number: 6993657
Abstract: Techniques for managing databases include registering multiple databases at a community server. Each database is controlled by a different party. The community server is accessible over a first network to which one or more users from each party have access. Each database is installed on a different network than the first network. The community server receives from a user over the first network a request to perform a management operation relating to a particular database that is controlled by a particular party. The community server determines that the particular database is registered and determines whether the user is authorized to perform the management operation. If the user is authorized, then the community server causes the management operation to be performed. With these techniques, one or more database devices, such as database appliances, can be managed over the Internet with a browser, at least for many common database management functions.
