Publication number: 20240157736Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of permanent active sensors in a tire achieved by partially embedding a sensor component in a green tire and adding a removable power source after the tire is cured. The printed circuit board can be encapsulated in the rubber of the tire with a power source housing connected to the electronics through the rubber. In another aspect, the printed circuit board can be directly connected to the power source housing. The sensor interlocks with the rubber of the tire. Various structural features of the sensor, such as a flange or channels for the rubber, can be used to secure the sensor in the rubber of the tire.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2023Publication date: May 16, 2024Inventors: Jeffrey McKay West, Peter Jung-min Suh, Brian Richard Morris, Arun Kumar Byatarayanapura Gopala, Bruce Thomas Choate

Patent number: 11971384Abstract: Electrophoresis is used to identify presence of a target compound in a patient sample based on a charge state of the compound and a label. The charge state of the compound correlates to a total net charge of a binder conjugated to the compound. The bound complex or “bound complex” with the label is then applied to the electrophoresis substrate. An electric potential is applied to the substrate for a time period and causes the labeled bound complex to migrate toward the electrode with opposite charge of the labeled bound complex at a migration velocity to form a migration pattern over the time period. At some time during or at the end of the time period, the labeled bound complex produces a bound complex band as a result of its migration across the substrate. The presence of the compound is identified based on the labeled bound complex band and one or both of the migration pattern and the migration velocity.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2021Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: Hemex Health, Inc.Inventors: Peter Galen, Ariane Elizabeth Erickson, David Richard Bell, Matthew Christian Lind, Tyler Witte, Umut Atakan Gurkan

Publication number: 20240131295Abstract: A device (102) provides respiratory treatment for SDB (including mild OSA) and other respiratory conditions. A flow generator warms and humidifies gas at controlled flow levels. For example, the device (102) delivers breathable gas to the upper airway at flow rates of about 10-35 Liters/minute. Levels of flow rate, temperature and/or humidification of the device may be automatically adjusted in response to the detection of SDB events. The device may also automatically deliver adjustments of any of the levels in accordance with detected phases of respiratory cycles. In some embodiments, the device automatically delivers distinct levels to either of the nares based on independent control of flow to each nare. A warm-up procedure controls temperature and humidity at a desired target during a ramp-up of flow to the set therapy level. A cool-down procedure controls temperature above the dewpoint to avoid condensation internal to the device and patient interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Peter John Sweeney, Adam Vivian Benjafield, Steven Paul Farrugia, Dieter Heidmann, Glenn Richards, Paul Jan Klasek

Patent number: 11931735Abstract: Methods and apparatus for manufacturing a microfluidic arrangement are disclosed. In one arrangement, a continuous body of a first liquid is provided in direct contact with a first substrate. A second liquid covers the first liquid. A separation fluid, immiscible with the first liquid, is propelled through at least the first liquid and into contact with the first substrate along all of a selected path on the surface of the first substrate. First liquid that was initially in contact with all of the selected path is displaced away from the selected path. The first liquid is divided to form sub-bodies of first liquid that are separated from each other. For each of one or more of the sub-bodies, a sub-body footprint represents an area of contact between the sub-body and the first substrate, and all of a boundary of the sub-body footprint is in contact with a closed loop of the selected path surrounding the sub-body footprint.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2019Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: Oxford University Innovation LimitedInventors: Edmond Walsh, Alexander Feuerborn, Peter Richard Cook, Cristian Soitu
