  • Patent number: 9243499
Abstract: A gas turbine rotor for a gas turbine is provided. The gas turbine rotor includes a compressor rotor shaft, a turbine rotor shaft and a coupling device frictionally connecting the two rotor shafts, wherein the coupling device is designed in such a way that the friction connection also exists when the two rotor shafts are displaced relative to one another. In this case, the turbine rotor shaft is lengthened at the end facing the compressor rotor shaft in such a way that the turbine rotor shaft overlaps with the compressor rotor shaft in the axial direction and the coupling device connects this lengthened end of the turbine shaft to the compressor rotor shaft in the radial direction.

  • Publication number: 20140373697
Abstract: A cutting tool assembly for a tire cutting apparatus features a tool holder and one or more cutting members removably installed on the tool holder to form at least one cutting feature thereon proximate a first end of the tool holder for cutting the tire by forcing of said first end of the tool holder toward the crown of the tire by an actuator during driven rotation of the tire. Each cutting member comprising a wear material of greater hardness than the tool holder. The softer, less brittle material of the tool holder withstands the stresses imposed on the assembly during cutting the steel and rubber composition of the tire, while the harder material of the replaceable cutting member provides better wear resistance at the cutting features.

  • Patent number: 8830235
Abstract: An irregular connectivity mesh representative of a surface having an arbitrary topology is processed using a non-uniform relaxation procedure. The non-uniform relaxation procedure minimizes differences between vectors normal to faces of pairs of triangles having a common edge and located within a designated neighborhood of a given vertex. The relaxation procedure may be used to construct subdivision and pyramid algorithms for performing processing operations such as upsampling, downsampling and filtering on irregular connectivity meshes. The signal processing algorithms may be utilized in applications such as smoothing, enhancement, editing, texture mapping and compression.
