  • Patent number: 10080412
Abstract: A telescopic handle for a piece of luggage has telescoping inner and outer tubes. A rod fixed on the outer tube has a toothed lower end, a toothed upper end spaced above the toothed lower end, and an untoothed sliding section between the upper and lower ends. The outer end of the inner tube carries a grip and the outer tube is fixed in the piece of luggage. A handle on the grip can be actuated to shift a locking element in the inner tube between a locking position engaging the upper or lower end of the rod of the outer tube and preventing relative movement of the inner and outer tubes and a freeing position permitting such movement.

  • Publication number: 20170079686
Abstract: A transverse connector for coupling between first and second vertebral anchors of a spinal stabilization system. The transverse connector includes a first coupling assembly proximate a first end, a second coupling assembly proximate a second end, a first fastener having external threading configured to threadably engage an internal threaded portion of a housing of the first vertebral anchor, and a second fastener having external threading configured to threadably engage an internal threaded portion of a housing of the second vertebral anchor. Each of the first and second fasteners includes a spherical upper surface, such as a spherically concave upper surface. A spherical surface of each of the first and second coupling assemblies mates with the spherical upper surface of the respective fastener to provide multi-axial rotation of the transverse connector relative to the housings to permit a desired orientation of the transverse connector.

  • Patent number: 8835820
Abstract: An inductor is provided for the simultaneous inductive heating of two tracks or ways which are formed next to one another on a metallic workpiece, having a first segment which is associated with the first track or way and a second segment which is associated with the second track or way, and having two supply arms via which the segments can be connected to a power supply. To enable two tracks or ways to be heated simultaneously to the hardening temperature without heating the material portion situated between the tracks or ways the segments of the inductor and the supply arms are connected together in an inductor in such a way that the fields travelling at right angles to the longitudinal extent of the tracks or ways neutralize each other in the region of the material portion which separates the tracks or ways from one another.

  • Publication number: 20110084062
Abstract: A device is provided having at least one inductor for the inductive heating of a zone formed in a metallic workpiece, which zone is adjoined by a narrow material portion which is to be protected against heating up. To enable two tracks or ways arranged next to one another to be heated simultaneously without the portion of material situated between the tracks or ways being heated throughout to this temperature in the process, the invention provides a cooling means which delivers a cooling fluid onto that material portion of the workpiece which is to be protected against heating up. The device is particularly suitable for the simultaneous inductive heating of two tracks or ways which are formed on a workpiece next to one another and at a distance from one another and which are separated by a narrow material portion.

  • Patent number: 7331477
Abstract: A method and a device for determining the rotary oscillation of a load suspended from a lifting gear are disclosed. The lifting gear includes a trolley equipped with a camera that can be oriented towards the load. The load includes at least two spaced apart markers, with one marker located on or near the axis of rotation, which extends in the lifting direction. A rotary oscillation of the load can be determined from the position of two markers, whereby at least one marker is recorded by the camera and its position is determined. At least at certain points in time, the rotary oscillation is determined by including a virtual position of a marker.

  • Patent number: 7137771
Abstract: In a method for recognition of the position of a load on a lifting gear, an active light source and a camera are mounted to a trolley of the lifting gear. Both, the light source and the camera are directed towards the load. The load has attached thereto at least one marker used for the recognition of the load position and including an active light source. In response to incoming light from the light source on the trolley, the light source of the marker transmits a light signal to the camera.

  • Patent number: 6987231
Abstract: A multifunctional pushbutton switch for a vehicle steering wheel has a plurality of pushbutton switching units that have pushbutton surfaces located close to each other in a shared operating surface. The switch has a shared switch housing in which actuation tappets of the pushbutton switching units are movably guided, and a cap mounted over the actuation tappets and onto the switch housing. The cap is made by means of a two-component injection-molding technique and consists of a relatively rigid plastic frame with recessed windows each of a shape and size that corresponds to the circumference of one of the pushbutton surfaces and of a silicone membrane extending over the recessed windows.
