  • Publication number: 20240105832
Abstract: A field effect transistor (FET) is proposed. The FET includes a transistor cell area in a silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor body. An edge termination area surrounds the transistor cell area. A source contact is arranged over a first surface of the SiC semiconductor body. A drain contact is arranged on a second surface of the SiC semiconductor body. The FET further includes a drift region of a first conductivity type between the first surface and the second surface. Along a lateral direction, a net doping concentration in the drift region is larger in the transistor cell area than in the edge termination area.

  • Publication number: 20230158451
Abstract: An autothermal direct air capture system (ADAC) is disclosed. The ADAC includes a chamber, a water reservoir, and a sorbent that releases water under ambient conditions, binds water under a first moisture level higher than the ambient moisture level, binds CO2 under ambient conditions, and releases CO2 under at least one of an elevated temperature and the first moisture level. The ADAC is movable between a capture configuration and a regeneration configuration, the capture configuration including the sorbent being exposed to a gas volume having CO2 under ambient conditions, the sorbent binding with CO2 while desorbing water, the sorbent selected so the sorbent material extracts heat while the ADAC is in the capture configuration, resulting in the thermal charging of the sorbent. The regeneration configuration includes the sorbent inside the chamber and in contact with water, the sorbent releasing carbon dioxide while binding water and depositing heat into the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20130023398
Abstract: The present invention relates to a centrifuge rotor, in particular a laboratory centrifuge rotor, including a rotor body, wherein the rotor body at least partially includes a porous metal or a porous metal alloy and an armoring located radially outside with respect to the rotation axis of said rotor body is provided. The centrifuge rotor allows centrifugation to be performed in a shorter time than previously and at a higher rotational speed. This results, inter alia, in higher RCA (relative centrifugal acceleration) values and thus in a very rapid separation of the constituents of the substances to be centrifuged.

  • Publication number: 20030200830
Abstract: A gearwheel, in particular a chain wheel, for the transmission of torque from one shaft to another, has a form-locking fastening device for fixing it on the shaft in a defined position. The fastening device is a bowl-shaped driver part and has a damping device for the damping of torsional oscillations, the damping device including of a leg spring with two legs which are angled parallel to one another and surround, under prestress, a driver extension on the driver part and a driver nose on the gearwheel. The angular position of the gearwheel on the shaft is defined by the force of the prestressed leg spring, the torsional oscillations bringing about a deflection of the gearwheel on the shaft through a particular angle of rotation in both directions of rotation and therefore being smoothed. The cost-effective and space-saving form of construction of the gearwheel, which forms a structural unit with the driver part and the leg spring, is advantageous.

  • Patent number: 6414255
Abstract: A switch device for switching an electrical connection between two connection parts is disclosed. Conventional switch devices comprise a contact lever having a switch contact, the flow of current taking place by way of the contact lever when the switch device is closed. To achieve a rapid switching process, a low mass inertia of the contact lever is required. However, this generally leads to a lower current capacity. By arranging the lever-side switch contact on a separate electrical connection device, it becomes possible to separate the function of current conduction from the function of contact guidance. Since the contact lever therefore no longer performs any current-conducting function, it may be optimized in mechanical respects exclusively.

  • Patent number: 6191374
Abstract: The invention pertains to a contact lever for an electrical switch designed for automatic adjustment of the main contacts. During assembly the pivot shaft is inserted in an oblong opening in the contact lever. The switch position is changed from open to closed by rotating the contact lever on the pivot shaft. The pivot shaft includes two conically extending shoulders that correspond in shape to chamfers located at the edge of the oblong opening. The conical shoulders and chamfers comprise a portion of the bearing surface between the contact lever and the pivot shaft. A sliding bearing pair is formed during switch operation wherein the contact lever is limited to a centrally aligned position in the open position and allowed additional freedom of motion at the end of the closing operation. The additional freedom of motion allows for precise automatic contact alignment.

  • Patent number: 6064017
Abstract: A switch having a contact lever and a compression member connected so as to bias the contact lever into a contact position. The contact lever includes a joint-receiving opening disposed therein. A bearing is insertable into the joint-receiving opening of the contact lever and supports a pivot which forms a connection between the compression member and the contact lever. The joint-receiving opening includes two portions configured one behind the other in the direction of compression of the compression member. The bearing is insertable into the first opening portion in a direction different from the direction of compression and then movable in the direction of compression to produce an interlock connection with the second opening portion of the opening.
