    Abstract: Agitator elements are provided in an apparatus and a process for the transport of heat and material between finely grained solid particles and a flow of carrier gas in a rotating fluid bed in order to prevent settling of coarse particles or agglomerates. The agitator elements are immersed into the fluid bed and move at a velocity different from that of the revolving fluid bed.
