  • Publication number: 20110207067
Abstract: A heat-generating mixture includes 40 to 55 wt % of metal silicide, 40 to 60 wt. % of iron (III) oxide, and 0 to 10 wt. % of silicon. On burning, the heat-generating mixture forms a non-melting, porous slag. In a method of heat generation, to generate heat, an igniter capable of being actuated mechanically or electrically, ignites a booster charge, which in turn ignites the heat-generating mixture. A device for heat generation incudes an igniter capable of being actuated mechanically or electrically, a booster charge and the heat-generating mixture fixed and/or contained in and/or on a casing.

  • Publication number: 20110142542
Abstract: The present invention uses one or more sediment survey techniques to map the sediment of a water course in three dimensions. The sediment survey techniques result in sediment definition that may be used to identify zones of sediment (whether areas or volumes) that are likely to contain contaminants. This may be based on the identity of the sediment, the location of the sediment in the water course, the depth of the sediment and/or the thickness of the sediment layer. In one embodiment, the sediment survey techniques, and the resulting sediment definition, may be used in combination with geomorphology techniques to calculate an adjusted contaminant concentration for sediment zones. Based on the adjusted contaminant concentrations for a site, selective sediment removal may be used to achieve the most effective removal of contaminant with the least of sediment removal or sediment testing.

  • Patent number: 7955035
Abstract: The invention relates to a rivet for connecting parts, in particular aircraft components, through which holes are formed, the rivet including a sleeve part, which has a rivet head with an axially extending cavity and an adjoining or is composed of such rivet head and a rivet mandrel having an essentially cylindrical base body and a widened rivet mandrel head in relation to the diameter thereof and which passes through the sleeve part and along the cavity with its base body. So that a cost-effective connection with improved loadability can be produced between workpieces, even when they have holes of different sizes for the rivet, the rivet mandrel according to the invention has ribs running axially on the cylindrical base body.

  • Publication number: 20110036090
Abstract: A steam generation system comprises a main steam generator and a back-up steam generator (20) which are both in fluid communication with a super heater (3) for superheating the generated steam. The superheater comprises a main heat source (6) for heating up a flow of heating gas. A back-up evaporator (2) is provided as a back-up steam generator for evaporating supplied water into steam. The back-up evaporator is connected in parallel to the main steam generator. An auxiliary heat source is provided for heating up the back-up evaporator. By controlling the auxiliary heat source (9), it is possible to supply more or less heat energy to the back-up evaporator to compensate for fluctuations in steam production of the main steam generator. The back-up evaporator is positioned away from the flow of heating gasses departing from the main heat source.

  • Publication number: 20110025371
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for detecting a fault in a rotating field machine, in which current components are analysed in a flux-based, particularly rotor-flux-based, coordinate system a flux-forming current component being subjected to a frequency analysis in the flux-based, particularly rotor-flux-based, coordinate system. It is endeavoured to provide a simple method for an early detection of faults. For this purpose, a current operating point is detected for at least one predetermined supply frequency (fsp), said operating point being compared to a former operating point.

  • Patent number: 7765151
Abstract: A computer implemented data processing system comprises a pricing engine and user interface program logic. The pricing engine is configured to calculate a price for an individual mortgage loan for a sale of the individual mortgage loan from a loan originator to a secondary mortgage market purchaser. The price is calculated prior to closing of the mortgage loan based on mortgage loan application data for a borrower associated with the mortgage loan. The user interface logic is configured to generate one or more screen displays configured to present the price to the loan originator prior to closing of the loan. The one or more screen displays are also configured to receive a commitment from the loan originator for the sale of the individual mortgage loan to the secondary mortgage market purchaser.

  • Publication number: 20080219797
Abstract: The invention relates to a rivet for connecting parts, in particular aircraft components, penetrated by bores, comprising a sleeve part (1), which has a rivet head (11) with a cavity running axially and a shank adjoining the rivet head (11) or is composed of this rivet head (11), and a rivet mandrel (2), which has an essentially cylindrical base body (26) and a widened rivet mandrel head (21) with respect to the diameter (D) thereof and which penetrates the sleeve part (1) with its base body (26) along the cavity. So that a cost-effective connection with improved loadability can be produced between workpieces, even when they have bores of different sizes for the rivet, it is proposed according to the invention that the rivet mandrel (2) has ribs (22) running axially on the cylindrical base body (26).
