  • Publication number: 20220184831
Abstract: A personal care device drive unit comprises a main body housing a motor and enabling releasable connection to any selected one of a set of different functional units. A controller of the personal care device drive unit generates an output signal associated with the selected one of the functional units connected to the main body in dependence on a sensed motor current and a sensed vibration occurring in the main body. The use of both vibration sensing and current sensing (which detects the electrical motor load resulting from driving the selected one of the functional units connected to the main body) enables multiple different functional units to be identified more reliably.

  • Patent number: 8978928
Abstract: An apparatus for producing a drink, for example milk, from mixing a powder formula with a liquid, preferably water, the apparatus preferably being an automated baby-milk machine. The apparatus is configured to prepare a drink concentrate by mixing the amount of formula necessary for the total amount of drink in a certain amount of hot liquid, and to add the right amount of liquid of a certain low temperature to the concentrate in order to reach the end volume of the drink at a safe drinking temperature.

  • Publication number: 20120295001
Abstract: An apparatus for preparing a beverage from water and an instant product includes a water supply system for supplying water, a heating device for sterilizing water by heating it; and a cooling device for cooling water heated in the heating device. The cooling device uses water from the water supply system as cooling-water. The water that is sterilized in the heating device has preferably previously been used in the cooling device as cooling-water. The cooling device includes a counter flow heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 8127662
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for preparing a beverage, for instance baby milk, from an instant product, such as formula, and water, which has been sterilized and cooled down to a temperature suitable for consumption. The apparatus comprises a water supply system for supplying water, a heating system for sterilizing the water, a cooling system for cooling down the sterilized water and a bypass, which allows sterilized water from the heating system to bypass the cooling system. Thanks to such configuration, hot water from the bypass can be added to cool water from the cooling system so as to bring the temperature of the cool water to a desired consumption temperature.

  • Publication number: 20100139361
Abstract: The invention relates to a calibration arrangement (10) for calibrating an apparatus that is arranged to prepare a beverage from water and an instant product, for different types of instant product. The calibration arrangement comprises: input means (20) for entering a setting into the apparatus, said setting providing the apparatus with dispense information of a particular instant product type, thereby enabling the apparatus to dispense appropriate amounts of said instant product; conversion means (15) for providing the settings for the respective instant product types. The conversion means (15) and the input means (20) function brand independently, that is without making use of or referring to a brand of the instant product type or some other type indication.
