  • Patent number: 7563137
Abstract: A mechanical fastener for coupling to electrical terminals of battery modules and a method for coupling to the electrical terminals are provided. The mechanical fastener includes a trapezoidal-shaped plate and a cover portion. The cover portion is disposed over the trapezoidal-shaped plate and is urged toward the trapezoidal-shaped plate to couple to electrical terminals from battery modules disposed between the trapezoidal-shaped plate and the cover portion.

  • Patent number: 5267466
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for calibrating a suspension control module of a vehicle to within a preselected tolerance of a predetermined ride height, the vehicle having at least one adjustable suspension unit interposed between the sprung and unsprung vehicle mass. The apparatus includes a first device for measuring a first distance corresponding to an actual ride height of a vehicle and for generating a first signal representative thereof and a second device for measuring a second distance between the vehicle sprung and unsprung mass and for generating a second signal representative thereof. The apparatus also includes a processor operatively associated with the first and second measuring devices for comparing the first and second signals and calculating a deviation between the signals, the processor being operative to generate a third signal corresponding to the deviation and store this deviation in the suspension control module.

  • Patent number: 5242190
Abstract: A unitary sensor assembly for use in an automotive vehicle having a source of electrical power, a body and an automotive suspension relatively moveable with respect to the body is disclosed, the assembly comprises a sensor for determining operational position on the suspension with respect to the body as well as the acceleration of the body of the vehicle with respect to the surface upon which the vehicle is traveling from a common point on the vehicle. The assembly of the present invention further includes an electrical power transmission circuit mounted to the first sensor and electrically interconnecting the first and second sensors for transmitting electrical power from the electrical power source of the vehicle to the sensor. An apparatus for controlling an adjustable suspension unit is also disclosed comprising a unitary sensor assembly of the present invention as well as a processor for receiving a series of signals generated from the sensor and a control for adjusting the suspension unit.

  • Patent number: 4836147
Abstract: A liquid cooling system having a combined coolant pump/electric motor assembly detached from a liquid cooled internal combustion engine. Liquid coolant is circulated from a radiator, first through the engine head jacket, then through the engine block jacket and back into the radiator. A two-speed electric pump varies the liquid coolant flow rate in relation to a deviation between actual engine temperature and an optimum temperature. The combined coolant pump/electric motor assembly further combines a magnetic clutch with the electric motor such that a separate magnetic clutch is not required.
